This was a short-lived series from 1990, but I found it and saw every episode several times, I don't know why they couldn't get financing for it. Buffy's Giles was very similar to the character of Ian Matheson, I see Kate Hodge in bit parts or commercials which is just a shame and a waste of a good comedic actress. 
This was the plot-  American actress Kate Hodge played graduate student Randi Wallace. Working on her masters thesis, Randi meets Mythology professor Ian Matheson, played by English actor Neil Dickson. The two develop an unspoken attraction to each other, which only increases when Randi looks to him for help after surviving a werewolf attack on the Moors. While searching for a cure, Ian becomes Randi's keeper during the full moon phases, with the mismatched duo somehow always seeming to find themselves in hot water with various supernatural creatures along the way. wiki IMDB

I think the gist is that she is getting used to American production, she doesnt have to worry about the future of it and is just enjoying her time doing it. She trying to tell what the show is about in a basic way to the Italian press who drove to the set to interview her after a long day. She knows the show reaches a certain segment of the public and is popular and she doesn't feel  like it is a bad thing or that she is a snob because of that. Every role has a story to tell regardless and if the script is crap it doesnt matter if it's high art or not, True Blood is written well.

Everyone is prepared, concentrated and professional. But it's a strange alchemy, I'm still getting used to it.

The actress will be the super evil Salome in the fifth season:

About her colleagues and the environment Valentina Cervi explains:

"It's a game of subtracting and adding. Not and easy balance to decode. On one side I fell the formal kindness of people, their enthusiasm, the apparent opening.

I have fun and not having a definite horizon doesn't worry me. Every movie has its own story and no contract can fill up the absence of a bad script. True Blood is well written and tries to reach the big public.

Wednesdays are for Werewolves.

Let's give wolfies some love this time around, big scary werewolves from the past. The 80's were great for so many things and "The Howling" is one of them. Dee Wallace (from ET) is a reporter writing about a serial killer, Eddie, she meets him in a dark peep show booth (smart move), she is wired thankfully (till she isn't). He makes her watch a skanky movie and talks to her, she turns and sees he is shifting.

The popo come running and riddle Eddie with bullets "killing" him. Dee's Karen White was so scared she has blocked out everything about the encounter. She has a breakdown on air and her shrink sends her to a rehab type supposedly relaxing place called "The Colony". I won't spoil it for anyone wanting to watch it and it is worth the watch, the synopsis of what happens is on IMDB. The ending is great, that much I have to say, Karen knows how to up the ratings for her show, that's for certain. These arent pretty real life wolves either, they is nasty but there is a sex scene that is pretty hot with the late Chris Stone, Dee's real life husband.


Now back to True Blood and our hiatus support therapy sesh, Wetpaint is talking more about the latest Claude II casting (more at the link).
Claude Crain is a soon-to-be recurring character on True Blood, and we have the scoop on everything you need to know about him. First up? He’s a fairy. We couldn't help but pop out our fangs back in 2011 when we heard the news that Lost’s Neil Hopkins would play Claude — who, in the books, is a fairy from Louisiana who’s possibly related to Sookie’s fairy godmother, Claudine. We were dissapointed when Neill was only featured briefly in True Blood’s season 4 premiere, and new information has come to light which implies that they might be re-casting his role.

Eonline's Ted C (forgive me) talks to Kristin about S5, read it all at the source-
"Every year I think, ‘We've kinda done it.' Every year I think ‘Wow, that was better than last year. These story lines and these scenes and the cast…I don't think they could get any better.' "  So says Kristin Bauer—who plays scene stealing vamp-extraordinaire Pam on True Blood—when we asked what's to come for the fangtastic HBO show. "And that's how I feel about [season] five," K.B. told us from the set.  First off, the gushing: "Every script I get I go, ‘Oh my god, that's better than I thought it would be.' And wardrobe fittings, ‘Oh my god, that's better than I could have imagined,' " Bauer practically hyperventilated. 
But scoop-wise, Bauer stayed tight-lipped on the secrets of season five: "I have a pretty good inkling about [what's to come]. And I can't tell you anything." Though she did tease that we should not only expect more totally over-the-top outfits from Pam, but also more R-rated one-liners.  "We thought last year's gash in the sundress might be that point and apparently that wasn't!" Kristen told us when asked the writers ever give her something to say that's just too much.

Joe's in yet another mag, this time it's Hong Kong's Prestige (a great movie btw) he talks about a lot of things and has this to say about Alcide- more of the interview at the link.
In the books on which True Blood is based, the Southern Vampire Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris, the character of Alcide features more heavily in some books than others. But show creator Alan Ball seems to have taken a liking to Manganiello’s role, further infusing the plot with story arcs featuring the werewolf. When I suggest that this is a reaction to the character’s popularity with viewers, Manganiello shakes his head. “I don’t know that Alan’s somebody who caves to peer pressure – as evidenced by him killing off most of the cast after season four. I think Alan does what Alan wants, and Alan does what Alan feels is right,” he says with a laugh. “But whatever the reason is, I think I’ve greatly benefitted. I know for a fact that [Alcide] is going to play a bigger part [in season five.] My role is only going to increase, and I’ll wind up getting into territory that isn’t covered in the books.”

Scene-stealer Carrie Preston returns as the flighty legal eagle Elsbeth Tascioni, who saved Alicia (Julianna Margulies) when the Department of the Treasury pressured her to give up the firm’s suspected terrorist client. Preston was entertaining enough that Mama hoped that her initial episode might be a test bubble for a spinoff, so it’s worth setting the DVR — even if it means recording for three hours to accommodate the overtime on the preceding AFC playoff game, which is the most irritating part of this drama.

Denis O’ Hare mentions in the SciFiNow article: I’m not going to come back to True Blood until mid-March.  I had a meeting with Alan Ball last week, and they have devised an amazing trick to allow me to be present, but not fully acting.
