What Maisie Knew star Alexander Skarsgard had a problem at the Toronto International Film Festival, he had nothing to wear to his movie’s premiere! Luckily, a last-minute stop to Toronto’s Gucci store provided a luxury solution. “I’ve been shooting a film named Hidden for two months, and when I go on location, I don’t pack a suit,” he told us at the dinnerInStyle hosted in honor of the Masie movie at the Windsor Arms Hotel. “I bring a T-shirt and sweatpants every day. And when you’re working, it’s pretty intense. I don’t have a lot of time outside of shooting. So I had nothing.” He also had nothing that fit. For Hidden, he had to lose 16 pounds from his 203-pound frame to take on the emaciated look his character called for. No wonder he had no clothes! Though, judging from his role on True Blood, that wouldn’t have been such a bad thing, anyway.

TORONTO — He’s the Nordic vampire Eric Northman on HBO’s “True Blood,” which recently completed its fifth season.  And now he is taking your questions. The Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard is continuing to build his film resume and has returned here to the Toronto International Film Festival for the second year in a row. This time, his co-star is Julianne Moore in the film “What Maisie Knew,” a modern-day adaptation of the Henry James novel.

This is in line with Alan Ball's last interview with TVGuide, but now it's from TVLine's Ausiello- Though True Blood tried to distract viewers with everything from Vampire Tara to Evil Bill, we never forgot that this was supposed to be the season that Sookie hooked up with Alcide. So WTH happened? “The decision to not do it this season [came about because] every single season, it’s been all about Sookie falling in love with this person or that person,” exiting showrunner Alan Ball tells TVLine. “It seemed like she had enough on her plate this season to not just [say], ‘Okay, now Sookie’s gonna fall in love with Alcide!’”  The wolfman covers up his ex-girlfriend’s murder for her, she pukes on him, and that’s… it? No, no, no, Ball is quick to reassure. “That doesn’t man that that door is closed,” he insists. Or at least it isn’t locked. “All of these supernatural guys in town carry a big torch for Sookie – even Eric, who doesn’t want to admit it.” Edit: I must be the only one who doesn't think TV Sookie has any heat with Alcide, none at all, zero. He was hotter with Rikki, like a lot.

Later this month, FilmFest Australia will be inaugurated with a taster festival at two Picturehouse venues in London, kicking off at the Clapham Picturehouse before skipping across town the following weekend to its freshly minted Hackney cousin. In 2013, the festival hopes to expand to LAFF proportions, with a full programme of features, documentaries and shorts showcasing the latest and greatest Aussie films. But this initial 2012 edition is no slouching affair, with one world premiere slotting alongside a host of UK debuts, with every screening preceded by a specially selected short from the team at Flickerfest, Australia’s premier short film festival.
The FFA 2012 festivites get underway on Friday September 14 at Clapham Picturehouse with the UK premiere of Peter Templeman’s Michael Lucas-scripted testicular cancer comedyNot Suitable for Children starring Ryan Kwanten and Sarah Snook.

Some great moments from the past- Old Bill with sideburns, new vamp Jess, Long Hair Eric, Pamalicious! Eric even sounded different, more authoritative, ahhhhhh.

Excitement levels are so high that at a recent appearance at Comic-Con, the annual confab for sci-fi geeks held in southern California, presidential-grade security measures were needed to protect Skarsgård and the rest of his undead cast. “There was a motorcade from the hotel in through the garage and up into the building,” he says. Some 5000 fans waited inside. What did it sound like when he stepped out on that stage?
“Deafening,” says Skarsgård, smiling.

Lots of very good photos at Allan Hyde News- FantasyEvents's Night ItaCon came to an end on Sunday evening which left lots of great memories and a lot of amazing pictures to its attendees. Collaborating with some amazing Allan Hyde fans out there, AllanHyde.com is bringing to you some exclusive pictures from the convention. A big thank you to our friend Deborah who met Allan and found the Danish actor a very "nice person." She mentioned that Allan was the "friendliest and the most kindest to everyone" and that she enjoyed her time talking to him tremendously.

True Blood Hiatus Support Group Therapy II

It's that time again for us to wait it out, nine months is a long time. Anna and Melody (from Bookies) will be giving birth soon,  and we wish them the best on their coming bundle of joys. I will be watching Sons of Anarchy, Hell on Wheels, Boardwalk Empire (!!), Dexter, AHS, GoT, Fringe and TWD during the wait. All are great shows and very different from each other and True blood but well acted and appealing in one way or another (my opinion only). Hiatus Support Therapy is now in session, so we don't lose our heads.

Of all the days at Fan Expo 2012, I would have to say that Sunday was my favorite. The lines were a little shorter, the convention a little quieter but, the absolute highlight of my entire weekend was my very first celebrity interview!
The lusciously voiced, Nelsan Ellis was kind enough to let us hassle him for a few minutes to talk about True Blood, his inner fanboy, and the role he’s dreamed of playing his entire life. Source

Nelsan Ellis, best known for playing Lafayette on HBO’s “True Blood,” is to direct an off-Loop show in Chicago.
Ellis, who was born in Chicago but raised in Alabama, will helm Katori Hall’s “HooDoo Love” at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave., beginning Sept. 22. Hall was represented on Broadway last season by “The Mountaintop.”
This Chicago premiere of “HooDoo Love” is the first endeavor of a new theater company called The Collective Theatre, made up of six African-American friends who attended high school together in Dolton, Ill., in the 1990s. Along with Ellis, the other founders of The Collective are Francois Battiste, Veronda Carey, Le’Mil Eiland, Metra Gilliard and Jasond Jones. (Chicago Tribune)

To add to this crappy dismal day, some sad news, I feel like there's been a  death of a close friend.  I always affectionately refer to TrueBlood-News as the Nesters, now they are shutting down their great site. I don't make friends with many in this fandom, (face it, some fangirls are just shot out and attention seekers) but these people are the best. I feel like there is one less place with normal fans to frequent, a hole in the Truebies world.
