True Blood Finale Breakdown

I do mean a breakdown, like as in me falling apart. Before we get to TB, I have to say I'm very sad after reading of the death of Andy Whitfield, my condolences to his family. He was Spartacus and he won our hearts and minds and was taken much too young. So very sad.

Ok, back to what we're here for, the big finale of season 4.

Some recaps, as usual read the whole articles at the links-
Celebrity Dirty Laundry is first out of the park-
Tonight’s show opens with Lafayette and Jesus, Jesus is apologizing toLafayette for pushing him in the magic before he was ready.  Jesus says ‘this type of magic is too strong for us and we are too weak’  Jesus tells him he willagree to leading a magic free life.  Lafayette has a really weird look on his face he really does a fantastic job with this.  Jesus is talking to Lafayette he looks at him and realizes something is wrong.  Lafayette shakes his head and tisk, tsik’s and then stabs a fork into Jesus’s hand.  Yikes!
Skarsgardfans already has cap up, lol, that girl don't play.
Zap2it's recap-
Over at Merlotte's, Tommy is laid to rest and Sookie gets her job back. Terry's marine buddy Scott Foley also comes to town - surely for nefarious purposes. And after the spell that brings the dead spirits around is cast, Rene shows up to tell Arlene that Terry is bad news and she should run away from him.

Jason confesses to Hoyt about what he did with Jessica and gets punched and kicked for his troubles, which - what were you expecting, Jay? That night, Little Jessica Riding Hood shows up and she and Jason have mad sex on the couch. She just wants to be friends with benefits and he reluctantly agrees. When she leaves, Vampire Reverend Newlin shows up. "Trick or treat."
Screen cap from True Blood Nest, Steve the funniest vamp yet.
Wetpaint has a poll up for what was the most shocking of tonights developments-
Jaws? Dropped. Minds? Blown. Eyes? Uh, not quite dry. The True Blood Season 4 finale had us gasping, yelling, and yes, tearing up. We're still struggling to grasp what all happened. Jesus ... dead, and as we predicted, by Lafayette/Marnie's hands. Marnie herself is finally gone, taken away by the spirits of Antonia and GRAN (!). And Nan Flanagan was deservedly taken down a notch ... well, many notches, to the True Death by Eric and Bill.

TVFantic is not happy with the finale at all-
Terry has a mysterious past; Bill and Eric are now on the same team and will be going up against the Authority; Russell Edgington is coming back (a development we all knew would take place the moment Bill and Eric chose not to kill him last year); and, oh yeah, Tara is dead.
The only highlight of the finale for me, the funniest thing Pam has ever said?
Pam: I am so over Sookie and her stupid f**king fairy vagina and her stupid name.

So Eric, BFFs? Only if I can keep that robe.
TVLine's take on the finale
First Marnie-as-Lafayette — we’ll call him/her Marnayette — rewarded Jesus for making him/her breakfast by forking him and then knifing in order to steal his brujo magic. (If that hadn’t worked, clearly a vicious spooning was next.) Then, during Marnayette’s Bill/Eric cookout, wiccan waitress Holly, with the help of Sookie, Tara and the Gorton’s fisherman, summoned up a whole buncha dead people, including Gran and Antonia (who never seems to rest, much less in peace) to coax her into the great beyond.
Elsewhere, Jason manned up and told Hoyt that he was shagging Jessica; Jessica womanned (?) up and told Jason – during sex, no less – that she didn’t want to be his girlfriend (though really, when aren’tthey having sex?); the late Rene (back from the dead along with all the other ghosts) warned Arlene that guest star Scott Foley (as Terry’s old Army buddy) would be nothing but trouble; Rev. Newlin showed up at Jason’s with fangs; Debbie showed up at Sookie’s with a rifle; a wolf showed up at Sam’s; and Nan showed up at Bill’s to inform him and Eric that she’d quit/been fired and was joining a vampire revolt. Not that they cared. They were so offended that she called them “puppydogs” that they turned her into a pile of goo.
AV Club chimes in with Stray Observations-
Sam’s being threatened by werewolves in his cliffhanger. Poor Sam!
He met an even worse fate earlier, though, with Mrs. Fortenberry offering him a pork-rind casserole and welcoming him to the family. Poor Sam!
Hoyt asks how Jason could have sex with Jessica. But Jason takes it the wrong way. "Weird question to ask, man, but if you really want to know, missionary, then doggy, then her on top, nothing too kinky."
Arlene’s kid dresses up as “Janelle from Teen Mom 2.”
"Excuse me! We're feeling a little crispy up here!"
Bill has some anger to work through, I think. “WE ARE NOT FUCKING PUPPYDOGS!”
BuzzSugar brings the laughs too
Hottest new guy: As promised, Scott Foley arrives at Merlotte's, as one of Terry's long-lost Marine friends. It's no wonder that Foley had no problem balancing True Blood with Grey's Anatomy, as he only gets a very short scene that reveals that Terry once saved his life. It sounds like we can expect a lot more from him though: Rene rises from the grave to warn Arlene about the "ghost of Terry's past." Let the speculation begin, my friends.
Most ominous performance by a parking lot: Alcide gets a mysterious phone call and is called to a parking garage, where he finds a hole in the cement and some chains. In real life this could mean a few things, but on True Blood it can only mean one: the former vampire king has returned. And he's probably pissed off.
I hope Tara is back, I liked her character and the actress too.

Eric scenes!! Thanks Alexskarsgard.net!

We have the return of the king to look forward to, maybe he'll turn Tara and she can finally be a queen.

From Inside True Blood Blog

Final Act

The ‘True Blood’ writers have never been shy about stacking up bodies on the show (whether live or dead), but even by those action-packed standards, Season 4 ended in a total bloodbath. Four long-running characters met their ends during the season finale, and we caught up with them all to memorialize their final moments.
Tara Thornton
Played by Rutina Wesley
Episode 1 – Episode 48
Unwritten Future
“I don’t know what they have in store for next season. I haven’t seen any scripts, so I have no idea what’s going to happen. I’m either at death’s door, or I’m gone. That’s scary for an actor, but if my time has come, then my time has come – and what a way to go, saving your best friend’s life. It’s pretty cool that everyone’s going to be going, “Is she, or isn’t she?” I’m excited and terrified all at the same time. I could be a ghost, I could die – it’s in the hands of our wonderful writers and the creative mind of Alan Ball.”
Cherished Memories
“I love the Super Save-A-Bunch scene when you first see Tara. I love being in the bar for my first scene with Lafayette, and the whole plantation scene where I tell the guy not to snap at me – cause right there, that’s Tara. I also loved working with Michelle Forbes, who is amazing. Plus, I got to be a little more girly in Season 2, dressing up a little more. I think one of my favorite scenes was in the red bikini in Season 2, doing a cannonball into the pool. I was so happy they let me do that. And oddly enough, being duct-taped to the toilet was the strangest, weirdest, most degrading scene, but it was so funny because Franklin kept coming in with these flowers … The situational comedy of that is just hilarious.”
Saying Goodbye
“Shooting that scene was very hard and emotional. I think everybody on set shed a tear that day; it was really tough to get through. When you see someone that you’ve lived with and breathed with for four years come to some kind of end, it’s very powerful – and sad. It’s really hard to play dead when you’re about to cry. All three of us went out afterwards – me, Brit [Morgan] and Anna [Paquin]. We had some food and kind of celebrated the end of a killer scene. Brit bites it too, so we were kind of just loving up on each other and supporting each other.”
Michael McMillian Comes Back with Fangs as Rev. Steve Newlin
As if Jason Stackhouse didn’t suffer enough in the season finale – getting punched by his former best friend and then semi-dumped by his new vampire girlfriend – Bon Temps’ most ab-tastic peace officer also received a surprise visit from the freshly fanged Rev. Steve Newlin. For Michael McMillian, who plays the freshly turned vamp preacher, there are a lot of reasons to show up on Jason’s doorstep.
“It seems really clear to me that Steve was always just as attracted to Jason as his wife was,” McMillian says. “In his eyes, Jason Stackhouse is the guy that Steve really wanted to be. I think he had a really heavy man-crush on him … that might have gone a bit deeper. And I think Steve is more heartbroken that Jason slept with Sarah than he is that Sarah slept with Jason, if you know what I mean. I have my own theories and ideas of what Steve’s been up to off-screen – and I’m sure the fans do, too – and I’m sure the writers will fill that in. But I think the fact that he’s coming back for Jason is linked to that emotional undercurrent he was feeling in Season 2. I have no idea where the show is headed, but it’s great to be back, even just for a few hours on set.”

It’s always tough losing one of your good work buddies, but usually nobody makes you force them out at the end of a kitchen knife. Nelsan Ellis, who plays Lafayette on ‘True Blood,’ told us a bit about how Kevin Alejandro’s spectacular exit in the season finale has affected him – and his character.
“Lafayette is distraught,” Ellis says. “He wasn’t the one who killed Jesus, but it was by his hand. This is possibly Lafayette’s first real meaningful love, and he wasn’t strong enough to protect Jesus – even though Jesus has been able to protect him all season. It was a hard scene for me because I’ve been working with Kevin for two years and we’re best of friends. We’ve done some real intimate stuff … So it was hard really for me to stab him.”

"And When I Die" S4E12, The True Blood Finale is Here.

Watch the preview over and over and you see something new each time. The last post had some of my thoughts from watching, some of my desires and fears.
Some New stills from HBO,  interestingly to Bill's right is Ra, the sun god. Looks like some goodbyes coming up tonight.

WARNING-I posted a big supposed spoiler at the bottom of the page for those who don't want to know. If this is true I was right about 2 biggies and posted them here many times the last months.
Twinsies in matching robes, a dream? Again?

As we have the last few weeks, going with Canyon News' preview by Tommy Garrett.
BEVERLY HILLS—This week in Hollywoodland, “True Blood” is down to one more episode, with tomorrow night’s season finale titled “And When I Die” being the end of the fourth season of the hit HBO series, which has spellbound millions of TV viewers beyond imagination. As always, the stories tend to deal with the character of Sookie Stackhouse, and this finale is no exception. However, there is an exception you had better be prepared for this weekend. Viewers will be mesmerized, entertained but also frustrated at the end of the show, because we have to wait months before we find out how it all plays out. Canyon News loves to engage our readers and find out their feelings about what has transpired over the past season, and you will read some of their opinions, hopes and expectations for Sunday night.
As “And When I Die” begins on Sunday night, it’s Samhain, Wicca’s greatest holy day, and spirits of the dead surface in Bon Temps. Some of them will be benevolent and others malevolent. But many will offer Sookie valuable allies to combat Marnie’s newest incarnation.
Lafayette’s latest medium encounter imperils his relationship with Jesus, and may end in utter disaster for at least one other main character on the series. But there will also be other triangles causing great stress for residents of Bon Temps, when Jason (Ryan Kwanten) finds confession good for the soul, but not the body! Ouch! Did Hoyt really do that?
Alcide makes a heartfelt appeal to the woman he loves, Sookie! However what is it about Ms. Stackhouse that has every male member of the state of Louisiana lust after her? We may find out sooner than you think. And it’s not her fairy blood either.
Terry (Todd Lowe) receives an unexpected visitor at Merlotte’s, and this new character will kick off a heck of an exciting storyline for the fifth season. Though there may be at least one happy and stable couple in town. Sam and Luna (Janina Gavankar) envision a storybook ending. Though we know on “True Blood” nothing is so easy. For once; Nan (Jessica Tuck) wears out her welcome with Bill and Eric. What a surprise, huh? Viewers are as sick of her as they are of Tara’s whining about being a victim of vampires.
However, all things will change on Sunday night, when Debbie confronts Sookie and Tara (Rutina Wesley) with deadly consequences for at least one of the show’s core characters. But the theme for the night will be the denizens of Bon Temps prepare to brace for a new crisis with a familiar face.
“And When I Die” was written by Raelle Tucker and directed by Scott Winant. “True Blood” was created by Alan Ball; based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris; executive producers, Alan Ball and Gregg Fienberg; co-executive producers, Brian Buckner, Mark Hudis, Raelle Tucker, Nancy Oliver and Alexander Woo; associate producer, Christina Jokanovich.
At first I thought this was going to be a big reveal but screencaps show it to be Jason's house, one shows Jess in red so connect the dots and BOOTYCALL!
Marnie in Lafayette putting the hurt on Jesus. How Lafayette has no control of who comes in and out of his body could be a funny sitcom plot. just saying.
Burn, Baby Burn! Are those all shutters on the pyre?

Her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, I guess.
Sure are a whole lot of new servers at Merlottes, when did Sam have the time to hire them? Slaps self and says suspend disbelief, maybe it's a supe that is a cloner, yeah, that's the ticket.
This is what City Weekly says about the finale, hee.
True Blood (HBO, Sunday) Season Finale: The utterly ridiculous fourth season of the already-ridiculous True Bloodcomes to a spectacularly ridiculous conclusion—on Halloween, no less. HBO’s been teasing that some regulars are going to die … News Flash: Most of the regulars (i.e., vampires) are already fucking dead! See ya next season, Bon Temps.
Another Nelsan interview, the whole thing is at the link- Access Hollywood-
“True Blood” wraps up its “Season of the Witch” this Sunday, but despite the outrageous and drama-filled Bon Temps happenings of the last 11 episodes, the final script of 2011 shocked even the cast. “I think we all read the finale and our jaws dropped,” Nelsan Ellis told Access Hollywood on Friday. “I was like, ‘What the hell?’(laughs). The audience is going to be so pissed off because they have to wait eight months before they see what happens next.”

Nelsan, who plays fan favorite, former V-dealer, Merlotte’s short order cook and new medium Lafayette Reynolds, said despite dozens of fantastical storylines throughout the show’s run, even he couldn’t quite believe how suspenseful Sunday’s episode ended up. “As a person in the show, I literally went, ‘What’s gonna happen next?!’” he said. “Seriously, it’s the best finale so far.”
They’ve developed his relationship with boyfriend Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) beyond the physical, gave Lafayette a power (he’s a medium), and a foe of sorts in the witch Marnie (Fiona Shaw), who when fans last saw her, slipped her spirit (Bill shot her in Episode 11) into Lafayette’s body. “She’s gonna wreak havoc in that final episode,” Nelsan said of what’s coming up as his character struggles with the spirit of a vampire-hating witch, bent on revenge. “I would say that the main [person] I’m gonna be knocking up against is Marnie, who possess me and I’m gonna be knocking up against Marnie because I’m trying to get out,” he added. “But, yeah, she’s gonna be at the center of all the drama.”
Marnie’s takeover is the third time Lafayette’s been possessed this season, his second by a female character.
So what did he think when he read about the latest twist? “I was like, ‘Damn it! I’m gonna get possessed again.’ I don’t wanna act like no woman,” he laughed. “Let me get possessed by a dude.”
Replicating Marnie, however — especially the way Fiona has played her all season — wasn’t a delicate or dainty affair. “Fiona Shaw made her such a power hungry, almost masculine character,” he explained. “She had a masculine gait and she was power hungry, so she would be good in a man’s body.”
Kristin was interviewed yesterday by NYMag's Vulture Blog, arent y'all glad they jumped on the TB bandwagon this season?
Pre Vampire Pam, a Victorian Hooker Perhaps?
True Blood’s Kristin Bauer is making the Fashion Week rounds, and at the Frye flagship opening party on Friday she hinted at what to expect for Pam in the season finale on Sunday: “I have sort of a cliffhanger. I definitely wouldn’t say that Pam’s situation gets better this season before the end of the year,” she told Vulture. “I’m really dying to see the first script for season five. So I’m not feeling relaxed and calm; I’m like, Oh my God, what happens next?”
Bauer did offer up one nugget about next season: “Alan [Ball] said that I would get my flashback, my making, you know, when Eric made me.” And she’s already creating scenarios for what that may be like. “I’m imagining; it’s all in my head, a combination of the books and other things that I’m putting together. Each vampire gets that flashback, and so I’m picturing little snippets. Like, there was a line: ‘I’m not a hooker,’ that was a long time ago. So I’m like, okay, maybe she’s a hooker. And then it would be, like, the Victorian era, so I’m picturing a Victorian-era hooker. And then I have this other thing where Eric saves Pam, so I’ve got some alley, hooker, Victorian costume,” she laughed.
And, she figures, whatever they dream up for Pam, the costumes will be fun, like the “bondage-corset” outfits she wears to work at Fangtasia. “Now we have this concept of she’s Barbie that you dress for every occasion. So we have, like, ‘I’ll Kill You Barbie;’ ‘Safari Barbie;’ ‘Exercise Barbie.’ This year we even had, like, a Nazi Barbie, when she was going to really kill,” Bauer laughed.
Shooting begins in November, and Bauer can’t wait. “I’m so glad that I just have a couple of months before I’m back in that world. Because it’s been a great hiatus, and I did this other movie that was really fun, and great to play a human, but I miss Pam and I miss my maker,” she said, laughing. “The worlds are sort of melding.”
Kristin Talks about The Eric/Pam Relationship at DragonCon

Just found Jarett from PopWrap again, he left the NY Post to do his own thang! He has scoopage from Carrie Preston on the finale.
TheInsider.com: The demonic status of Arlene's baby was your main thrust this season, what did you think about the storyline?
Carrie Preston: It was fun. It was a challenge working with twins, but we got some great babies. At first, I wasn't sure where they were going with it. All I knew is that the baby would be connected to Lafayette in some way, but I figured you can't bring a baby into the show without doing something big with it, ya know? It's not something that happens every day in the real world, but was just another day in Bon Temps [laughs].

Insider: How do you think witnessing the spirit of Mavis moving on will change Arlene?
Carrie: I always want Arlene to be more open-minded than the writers do, so I was happy to play a scene where I was in the presence of some sort of miracle, hoping it could maybe change Arlene in the future. But I think ultimately Arlene is, like a lot of people, someone who is afraid of what she doesn’t understand. I don’t know if she’s going to quite understand what went on there, but she can’t deny that experience. She’s finding her way in her own time. Even with Jessica in the bar, they found a way to work together.

Insider: This Sunday brings the season four finale, what can you tease?
Carrie: The finale has one of our biggest cliffhangers ever. Honestly, this show just gets crazier and crazier each season! This year, a dark shadow from Terry’s past will show its face. And the finale opens a door but I don’t know what’s beyond it. Bottom line, there’s never a moment where Arlene can relax. Just when you think everything is OK, something’s lurking around the corner – but that’s what is so great with our show.

I'm not scared of dyin'
and I don't really care
if it's peace you find in dyin'
Well then let the time be near
if it's peace you find in dyin'
When dyin' time is here
just bundle up my coffin
cause it's cold way down there
And when I die
and when I'm gone
there'll be one child born
and a world to carry on
My troubles are many
they're as deep as a well
I swear there ain't no heaven
and I pray there ain't no hell
swear there ain't no heaven
and pray there ain't no hell
but I'll never know by livin'
only my dyin' will tell
And when I die
and when I'm gone
there'll be one child born
and a world to carry on
Give me my freedom
for as long as I be
all I ask of livin'
is to have no chains on me
all I ask of livin'
is to have no chains on me
and all I ask of dyin'
is to go naturally
And when I die
and when I'm gone
there'll be one child born
and a world to carry on

Posted on Facebook, the person said they saw the finale when it was accidently shown On Demand, maybe he's the same one that posted whole episode spoilers on Reddit before it was deleted, including his account. DEATH SPOILERS! I was right about Nan and Steve, well that's a first! Also said Scott Foley's Patrick might have something to do with Marcus's demise, hmmm, we'll see, and the Alcide employee was tied to cracked cement and being a meal, I am vindicated all you hookahs!
Debbie, Nan and Jesus are dead, as many have already guessed, the biggie is the cliff hanger which also has been speculated about. Ausiello said one regular, ONE!
Tara dying in Sookies arms as it ends. Ok, I read a few people's ideas on the deaths and they were about Tara being saved by... PAM! Remember I harped on Ball saying "meet their maker" as a hint of a regular being turned, well if this happens we have to bow down to the evil genius.
Thanks to Sookieverse forum for being quick and copying the whole post from Facebook-
Jeremy Barron
Debbie shot and killed tara while trying to kill sookie, then sookie killed debbie!! CAnt belive it.
Nan was fired from the authority, and also killed by eric and bill for threatening about sookie.
Jesus was killed by marnie, she stabbed him
Marnie went in peace, Adale stackhouse and Antonia defeated her sortof.
thats not all, Steve newlin comes back as a vampire.. and Russell comes back also, but we dont get to see him, only the destroyed Concrete and silver chains they had him tied up in.
jess sleeps with jason, who has told the truth to hoyt about his affairs with jess. and pam is not in the finale much just a quick scene where she bitches about eric loving sookie more then her
After jess leaves, jason opens the door to find steve newlin there, and hes a vamp now!
all the dead spirits come back, we see sookies gran and rene comes back in an arlene scene. Adale rips marnies spirit out of Lafayettes body, and Antonia convinces Marnie to go with them, In Peace.
the best of the finale has NOTHING to do with the witches

ETA: MORE :

[Sookie] makes a choice between him [Eric] and bill, she says why she loves them both then chooses neither
Well I think tara died, that's how it ended, she took a shotgun to the head
theres a cliffhanger when jason answers his doors, steve newlin shows up, baring his new fangs.
sams is that he turns around and theres an angry werewolf there ready to pounce on him.

True Blood's Finale Weekend.

Who is across from Nan? Is it just Bill all dressed up to kill or is it someone we haven't seen because he's been missing and has posters asking if we've seen him? I can hope even if it seems like that isn't going to happen the more I read about this finale.

Nelsan is giving some good juice about the finale in some new interviews.
LA Times Show Tracker, more at the link-
"True Blood" is gearing up for the finale of its fourth season Sunday night, and actor Nelsan Ellis, who plays flamboyant, forthright medium Lafayette Reynolds, promises that it will be one to remember -- and not just in terms of momentous events for his character and his partner Jesus, played by Kevin Alejandro.
"The finale turns Bon Temps upside down," the actor said, speaking recently by phone from New York, where he was shooting a feature film tentatively titled "Gods Behaving Badly." "Lafayette and Jesus are directly in the middle of it, and it doesn't end well. No finale in the history of 'True Blood' has been worse than this one in terms of the cliffhangers. People are going to be [upset] because they're going to have to wait like seven months before they figure out what materializes after this finale."
By the end of last week's episode, "Soul of Fire," Lafayette found himself possessed by the spirit of the recently dispatched witch Marnie (Fiona Shaw), who's more than likely to use his body to her own evil ends as she seeks to eradicate vampires not just from Bon Temps but also from the world at large.
"I had to work with her to figure out what she was doing, and figure out how I was going to do what she was doing inside of me," he said. "It was a long discussion, myself and Fiona, we sort of did the same thing, figuring out how that's done. What we figured out is that there's a third person that's created. I didn't have to mimic Nondumiso, Mavis, rather I had to find out how she was in my body because she's coming into my mechanics, we had to figure out how that was.

From NY Mag's Vulture Blog-
As for his day job, Ellis claims that his current True Blood arc, where Lafayette finds himself possessed by the witch Marnie, wasn't an easy thing to film. "Alan Ball told me I couldn't try to talk like her, and I was like, 'Really?' So that was challenging. 'Who do I act like?' 'Not her.' I had to create something else ... We'll see what the fans say about it. The most exciting part of the episode isn't me, though — it's the cliffhangers."
But True Blood always ends its seasons with big cliffhangers! "No," said Ellis gravely. "This year, it's on a different scale. When we all read the script, we were like, 'What?!' The cliffhangers take it to another level." Are we getting something akin to the first season finale, where we thought that Lafayette had perished in the final minutes? "I can't give it away, but something like that, except, I can't say, but something really big on that level is going to happen." He laughed. "You'll see, and it'll throw you for a loop, and then you all will have to wait for eight months!"

From TrueBlood.net, this is from June.
True Blood‘s season 4 finale, “And When I Die”, comes the casting call for characters needed for this episode.
First  up is Doug, Alcide’s foreman at Herveaux Construction. He’s a schlubby guy with just a couple of lines. (edit-this is who I think will find Russell in some way).
The big news comes in the form of Patrick Devins, a tough, ruggedly handsome man in his mid-30s to mid-40s. He’s an old military buddy of Terry’s; in fact, Terry saved his life twice. Patrick will be a series regular in season 5 (that’s right, they’re already casting characters for season 5), appearing in 7 out of 13 episodes. Not sure if that means season 5 will have 13 episodes, or if they’re counting 4.12 in that number. (we now know this is Scott Foley)
So what do you think about Terry potentially having a larger storyline next season? Or is Terry possibly the object of the title and Patrick comes in to help out Arlene as a way of paying Terry back? And why are we only just now meeting Alcide’s employee?
Some ideas for the finale, since I'm usually wrong, this is just for fun.
Would Patrick showing up after Marcus's demise have anything to do with an alpha dog show down coming up for pack master? Will any of the dead that arise be old Civil War mates of Bill Compton? Remember the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting where Bill talked   to the living who had ancestors he knew during the war? Screencaps of the finale preview pretty much confirm that Red Riding Hood is Jessica  making a booty call to Jason's, but is it before or after he's whooped by Hoyt? Ball's wording of someone meeting their "maker" still leads me to believe we'll have a new vamp, hoping so anyway. We need new blood in Bon Temps, a friendly vamp in the "Bubba" vein. Sookie, oh Sookie, has she been on my nerves this season. Her on and off  again fairy powers that she forgets to use when needed most have been more annoying than her constant crying and screaming. I figure Alcide makes his move after both vamps say they need space so she can get their blood out of her system. We know that fairy boinking in the woods with Andy won't be going anywhere happy for him. The writers want a Holly romance so when that gets going, I'm horny fae girl will be back to mess it up, maybe preggers? Speaking of which, how many of Jason's swimmers were successful in Hotshot? Big Mama Kitty can't just disappear, no matter how much we want her to. So much to think about and so little time!

From Eonline's Kristin
Dear Sookie Stackhouse: On behalf of the entire female population, we kindly implore you to bottle up that fairy blood running in your veins and sell it to the masses. 'Cause if it's powerful enough to make the ridiculous hotness that is Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd, Stephen Moyer and Joe Manganiello all fall in love with you and fight for yo ass, we need it. Don't be a selfish little fairy. Run along now.
Yep, believe it or not, it seems that in this Sunday's True Blood finale, the love triangle is apparently back to a full-fledged rhombus, courtesy of Manganiello's Alcide getting back in the Sookie-seeking mix.
In this sneak peek of Sunday's season-four finale, Alcide makes a pitch for Sookie to "follow her brain" and stop making the same dumb mistakes over and over again. "People don't change," he tells her. "They just find new ways to lie."
See, Debbie is apparently now fully out of the picture, and so it seems Alcide is having a bit of an "Aha!" moment: let his werewolf GF go for good and hook up with the Sookster (a bad nickname, but fun to say, so just let it slide)
Joe himself told us he believes Sookie and Alcide would have already been living happily ever after had she not vanished at the end of last season. "I really believe that if Sookie wouldn't have disappeared he could have built that house for her, for the two of them," Joe insists. "[When she showed up], I think his heart got pulled in that direction. He's a good guy [but] he's also a character where he's had to push down a lot of his impulses—being a werewolf having to hide, not really being able to stand up fully straight and be who he really is, inhabit that power. And this is yet another thing he has [had] to push down.  And like a pot boiling, when you push that lid down enough it's going to pop off. And that certainly happens."
If the writers throw a curveball into this Sunday's finale, and end things with a Sookie-Alcide hookup after an entire season of an in-your-face (rarely clothed) Sookie-Eric-Bill love triangle, what exactly are we gonna do? Riot in the streets? Bake big boss Alan Ball a thank-you cake? Submit our reel to be the new Bon Temps girl in town for season five to help Bill and/or Eric pick up the pieces...with some crazy hot rebound sex? (Don't steal that idea, it's mine.)

MSN's Wonderwall has a bit on Kevin Alejandro where he talks a little about the finale.

Wonderwall: What can fans look forward to from the season finale?
Kevin Alejandro: Well, actually last weekend's episode read as a season finale. It could have very easily been the season finale. It was so good. We all thought when we saw it, and then all of a sudden they gave us the script for the actual season finale and it blew us out of the water. So, you can expect to be completely surprised in all different angles of the show. It's more captivating and will leave you on the edge of your seats. And I guarantee you, eyebrows will be raised.
WW: Will we be left with a lot of questions or will things tie up nicely?
KA: A little bit of both. Definitely some things will get resolved and a lot of stuff is going to be left hanging in the air, where you're just going to be like, "What the hell?" Now I gotta wait all these months again; I gotta wait till next year to watch it. But that's what makes "True Blood" great, I think.
Not a spoiler but Interview Magazine has a good interview with Kristin Bauer!
The Lady is a Vamp!
Wetpaint is not afraid to go there, they are asking the big question. Will Lafayette kill Jesus?
Ghost Marnie is out for revenge, and now that she’s inhabited Lafayette's fro-hawk, we’re seriously concerned about Jesus' RIP status.
If Lafayette accidentally kills his lover while possessed with Marnie and her lame hippie clothes, we don’t know what we’ll do — and can you imagine Lala’s guilt once he vomits Marnie up and realizes what he’s done? It’ll be like Eggs and Maryanne all over again, except with less bull sex and meat altars.
Let’s take a moment to pour some out for Jesus, our soon-to-be fallen homie. Though, it’s not like he won’t resurrect next season.
Whew, they are making like it's a done deal.
Wetpaint also has the 12 Sexiest Moments of the season up, prepare to heat up!
Buddy TV has the previews up and some thoughts-
The True Blood season 4 finale promises a lot more death, but since we've already seen Tommy, Marnie and Marcus get killed, the show is going to have to get creative if it wants to kill more people.
But the real story of the True Blood season 4 finale is about the death or deaths. In this promo, we see the Population of Bon Temps ticking down at an alarmingly fast rate, so I'm expecting multiple dead people.
There are a lot of suspects not just for who might die, but who might do the killing. Marnie has taken over Lafayette's body, Nan Flanagan has vowed to get the Authority involved and the fairies came back into the mix. Any of them can do some serious damage. As for who will die? Lafayette and Jesus seem like obvious targets given their current predicament. Hoyt seems expendable now that he's not with Jessica. The same goes for Debbie. Basically, there are too many options to count, but as long as Sookie, Eric, Bill and Jason make it out alive, I'll be happy.

True Blood Finale Countdown- 3 More Days

Ball changed so much but not this? I was hoping in vain.

Sam with his bags of money couldn't get my Scrappy Doo a gravestone? Maxine's granny panties, TMI. Wait till she finds out he sold the oil rights to her land.

Hoyt is going to kick Jason's ass, he looks like he just heard the news about Jason and Jess.
CinemaBlend on the previews
It’s kind of hard to predict what’s going to happen on this Sunday night’s season finale of True Blood. Though last Sunday’s episode ended with a pretty big cliffhanger, it seems like a big chunk of the season’s momentum was used up at the MoonGoddess Emporium. These two clips from the final episode do do address some unresolved issues, neither of which have to do with Marnie.
We’ve been so caught up with Sookie’s choice of vampires, that Alcide and his whole mess of issues sort of fell to the side. While Sookie may still be torn between Eric and Bill, Alcide is putting another offer on the table.
Only in a world like True Blood’s does choosing the werewolf seem like the “safe choice.”
Meanwhile, I nearly forgot about what Tommy was up to prior to getting himself killed. The conversation between Hoyt’s mother and Sam is, if nothing more, a reminder that Mrs. Fortenberry may not have a home for much longer. Did Tommy ever finish up that deal to sell her land? If so, I’m guessing Hoyt’s about to be up a roommate pretty soon.

True Blood Finale Countdown Starts Now.

Truebies, we will have support group meetings all hiatus, don't you worry about that. Bring cakes and donuts, I'll bring copious amounts of booze. I was thinking of branching out this hiatus with more news as well as any spoilers I can dig up. This season flew by too fast.

Let's take it day by day, we can do it!
From Wetpaint, it's a tie in to Ausiello's spoiler from yesterday-
Okay, Truebies. We have some major dirt on the True Bloodseason finale! Michael Ausiello spilled the deets, saying, “By the end of the hour, the show will be down at least one series regular.” Of course we have our guesses, but now that we know it’s one series regular, at the very minimum, this really changes the game. Let’s go over the facts. Marnie is not exactly dead, so there’s still some hell to pay in Bon Temps. Even though Bill and Eric “killed” her, Marnie’s hippy-dippy witch spirit has taken over poor Lafayette. Someone give Lala a break! There’s also that matter of Alcide killing Marcus. We can’t imagine that’ll go over well with the were packs. Then there’s the finale preview. Bill and Eric are being burned Antonia-style at the stake, Arlene is in danger, and Pam is looking awfully distraught (but we’re pretty sure it’s not because she lost her newly-obtained vintage Cartier). And we know the fierce Pam only cries over one immortal being... Oh no! Could it be... Eric?
No way it's Eric, they may leave it a cliffhanger but Askars ain't going nowhere.
Some thoughts from the HDRoom-

As the "Death" trailer recently teased, Marne's death in no way signified the character's exit from the show. Her spirit has hopped into Lafayette, much in the same way Antonia hopped into her. Lafayette would call it "reverse puking."
'Soul of Fire' taught us that Jesus is the only witch capable of separating a spirit from its host. It took a big toll on him to do it once, so will he be up to the challenge again so soon? He's definitely up near the top of the "this could be their final episode" list.
Alan Ball and his True Blood team love to tease what's coming in the next season as the previous comes to a close. We may have caught a glimpse of that when Andy stumbled into a Faerie in the woods and promptly got naked with her. He made a pledge to the Faerie that could turn out to be a very, very bad decision.
I've been wondering all season when the Faeries would make their return. They took up the first 10 or so minutes of the season 4 premiere, then Eric offed Sookie's Faerie God Mother in gruesome fashion. Surely they seek revenge.
In the finale trailer, HBO teases the tagline "Your Past Will Haunt You," showing a Red Riding Hood like figure moving through the woods. Is it Sookie? Or someone else?
The trailer also shows Eric and Bill about to roast under a hot fire. We've already seen them willing to die for Sookie once. Is this is a similar deal, or are they under a spell?

Kristin talks about TB and the finale on Fox News-

I'm not scared of dyin' and I don't really care, if it's peace you find in dying then let the time be near. Especially if you become a vamp (one child born to carry on). I miss Laura Nyro, what a loss.

Sucker Punch's late review of Soul of Fire, read it in it's entirety at the link

I'm also dying to see what happens next with Alcide, Debbie, and Sam. They all end up at Alcide and Debbie's place, since Marcus is there to put the moves on Debbie and (whoops!) he's also brought his little girl. When Alcide and Sam burst in on Debbie and Marcus, Sam drops some revenge punches on Marcus for killing Tommy and kidnapping the kid, but it's Alcide who goes wild. Suddenly disillusioned by both his pack and his girlfriend, he kills Marcus in a rage. After he does that, eyes blazing, he ritually separates himself from Debbie, hurling horrible phrases like "I will no longer share flesh with you." The acting in this moment is incredible. We can see Alcide's wolf nature tearing free and see Debbie's soul collapse as her worst fear comes true. I've heard rumblings that the werewolves and shifters will be the focus of next season, and I hope they are. Right now, they're the ones with the most interesting stories to tell. They're the ones who are surprising me because the series hasn't trapped them inside a phony conflict.
Oh... and Alcide's nasty break-up with Debbie is totally the Sucker Punch of the Week. Turns out, some things are worse than getting dumped via post-it.
Episode #48 – 4.12: 'And When I Die' Season Finale.
It’s Samhain, Wicca’s greatest holy day, and spirits of the dead surface in Bon Temps, giving Sookie some valuable allies to combat Marnie’s newest incarnation. Lafayette’s latest medium encounter imperils his relationship with Jesus; Jason finds confession good for the soul, but not the body; Alcide makes a heartfelt appeal to the woman he loves; Terry receives an unexpected visitor at Merlotte’s; Sam and Luna envision a storybook ending, for once; Nan wears out her welcome with Bill and Eric. As Season Four comes to a shattering conclusion, Debbie confronts Sookie and Tara with deadly consequences, and the denizens of Bon Temps brace for a new crisis with a familiar face

MarqueeBlogs has a humorous recap also-
Back at Moon Goddess, Marnie looked into a pool of the dead witch’s blood and asked to see the future. When she saw herself with a bullet between the eyes, she ordered everyone to participate in a spell that, unbeknownst to them, lured the vamps toward her wall of protection, which just so happened to be made of sunlight.
Jason beamed his thoughts to Sookie, who then fairy-blasted the circle and broke the spell cast against the vampires. Marnie then punished her with a spell from Johnny Cash’s Big Book of Witchcraft and encircled her in a ring of fire.
Meanwhile, Jesus’ spell worked and he freed not only Sookie and Antonia, but he broke Marnie’s protection spell as well, giving the vampires access to Moon Goddess.
When Bill and Eric entered to kill Marnie, Roy – the most loyal little witch there ever was – told them if they wanted to get to Marnie they'd have to go through him. Eric took him up on his offer and ripped his heart out. The cherry on the cake of my life was when he drank from one of the valves like it was a straw. Let there be no question, Original Eric is the best Eric.
