Another Week, Another Fangover

Congrats to ex-queen Sophie Anne, Evan Rachel Wood has given birth to a baby boy!
The True Bloodactress — who played vampire queen Sophie-Anne on the series until 2011 — and her husband Jamie Bell welcomed their “beautiful” son on July 29. Evan’s rep confirmed the happy news to Peoplemagazine, noting that “parents and baby are all doing well.”

Meredith of io9 is back with her Pros and Cons of the last episode- you have got to see the lead pic at the site and read it all.
True Blood teaches us how to have Dirty Dancing vampire sex!
Pro: Pam is doing yoga in her cell, now I know that Pam does yoga. Just one more thing we can do together on our future Best Friends Date! Which totally doesn't have to end with a making out, for a little while.
Con: Willa informs Pam not to drink the Hep V infected True Blood, and then proceeds to tell Pam to cool it with the attitude. That's enough of that lady.
Pro: Happy to see the Vampire Prison hasn't been skimping on the Vampire Cosmetics. This is not a complaint. Pam looks fabulous.
Con: Sookie and Warlow wallow in their after light genital sex-glow. Sookie is in that awkward, unavoidable "whole shoulder in a guys arm pit" pose that just kind of sucks, especially in the summer. I can't imagine the summer in Louisiana is any less humid and gross. But who? Knows maybe fairies don't smell like hot ass after swamp sex.
Con: "This is a First. Waking up with a man in broad day light." "You just wrote our wedding vows." WORST WEDDING VOWS EVER!

Now this is a werewolf. Wish Gideon had a bigger role on TB.

In the Evening Rewinding

This is going to be an extra long post, hold on.
Brian Juergens recap, always my favorite-
Barlow (Rob Kazinsky) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) wake up in the graveyard with the chandeliers and he’s immediately regretting his decision to be raped: he thinks it was more than just sex, but she schools him that she can vote AND mount guys who are tied to gravestones. But their stone pillow talk is interrupted when she suddenly hears Arlene(Carrie Preston) KEENING in the actual graveyard, and she rushes off – with Barlow’s guidance (which she shouldn’t need, since she brought him there, didn’t she?) – to comfort her.

Let me take a moment here to point out that the LAST TIME that Sookie whisked off via the Hot Tub Time Machine to the Chandelier Cemetery, an hour to her was like six months of Earth time. This time it’s even-Stevens. JUST SO WE’RE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE.
Back at the Concentration Vamp (PATENT PENDING), a bloodsack-declining Pam tellsPruitt Taylor Vince – on THE BIGGEST COUCH IN HISTORY – that he’d “be surprised what a girl can accomplish in solitary.” He tries to pick her brain some more in regards to her sexual appetites, and she reminds him, “I was a whore in my human life and that wasn’t a coincidence.”
BEST. LINE. EVER. More at The Backlot
Great News for Ryan's movie Knights of Badassdom with Peter Dinklage and a wondeful cast is finally moving forward.Knights of Badassdom looks like it is going to see the light of day after all. eOne Entertainment has secured the U.S. distribution rights. The film has been stuck in legal hell for almost two years. It is unclear which version of the film will be released — director Joe Lynch’s original version, or the version reportedly recut by a producer on behalf of the investment company. The film star Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Danny Pudi (Community) and Summer Glau (Firefly) and tells the story of a group of LARPers that encounter a real magical threat. Recap Bitsies, read completely at the links. TVline's-
A HAIRY SITUATION Though Sam totally missed Luna’s funeral – “Luna who?” he doesn’t bother to ask while having “See ya!” shower sex with Nicole – he defies Alcide’s orders to stay away from Bon Temps in order to go home for Terry’s burial. At the doghouse a few scenes later, Alcide lies to his pack that Sam and Nicole are dead. “Oh, really?” Rikki kinda barks. “Then how come we have Nicole and her mother right here and breathing?” Ruh-roh, Shaggy!
Eric had a better wig season one and a better hairline, can we never see  this ever again?
Eric Scenes, at least we get more Askars because of Nora
I never liked the Nora character, it wasn't the actress' fault. She was unlikeable from the get go (IMO) as the Authority member and then as the sister that no one knew about, even Pam. As if. At least she's gone now and not an annoyance, Nicole is next, please Rikki. Speaking of which they are really making Rikki very crapped out as well, so is she getting offed too?
Ep. 67 Inside the Episode

The Fangover: Arlene Seeks Liquid Comfort; Sarah Gets Mad and Even; A Heart-Melting End for Eric and Nora

The body count in Bon Temps continues to climb, while the surviving cast struggles to cope. On this week’s ‘True Blood,’ our favorite characters reconcile their loss the best way they know how (beer, anyone?), and move through the stages of grief.
Sound Bites of the Week:
"I'm so fucking glad I took my beta blockers.” – Lafayette
"Have fun with your sluts!” – Sarah
"You don’t have that stockholder’s syndrome, do you?” – Jason
OD on V:
Lucy Griffiths, the actor behind Nora, dishes to New York Magazine about her death scene: “I was covered in blood, covered head to toe, and it was so cold.”
Kristin Bauer van Straten is auctioning off a limited collectors edition Entertainment Weekly signed by Ryan Kwanten for her anti-poaching project, Out of Africa.

THR's link-Breaking Out of Vamp Camp- Prison BreakEric is determined to get Nora (who has been injected with the deadly Hep V) out of the Vamp Camp. He grabs a ride on the bottom of a truck and gets them the heck out of there.
Back in the prison, Willa, now aware that the humans are spiking the True Blood with the deadly virus, warns Pam not to drink it. They decide to only tell Jessica and Tara about this information so the prison guards don't realize that everyone knows about the Hep V.
Eric brings Nora to Bill, asking him to give her some of his blood to heal her. But Nora refuses because she doesn't want that crazy Lilith blood in her body.
EW's recap-Sarah Newlin, meanwhile, drove to Gov. Burrell’s mansion listening to a tape about spreading the gospel. She found Truman’s severed head still resting at the foot of his statue and his body lying nearby along with those of his dead guards. She had a tender/mildly disturbing moment with Truman's head telling him he was a decent man and that his commitment to the cause was whole and pure. She kissed his lips. She said his death was not in vain -- it will galvanize the forces against the evil they fight. She also said the enemy preys on the pure. I have a feeling we’re about to see Sarah Newlin turn real bad.
Back at the Bellefleurs, Arlene was day drinking, so Lafayette assumed now wasn’t the right time to tell her about Terry’s planned suicide. Portia was back to take care of the kids. Andy’s daughter Adilyn and Sookie finally met. Holly’s teen boys met Adilyn as well. I wonder what thoughts she overheard them having about her. Then boom, in walked Bill. This was Carrie Preston’s best scene ever! Bill gave her his condolences and told her he was fond of Terry and had been proud to call him his kin. She laughed and said, “Y’all, I’m wasted.” When she realized Holly was physically steadying her, she gasped. “S---, this shit’s real. Idn’t it? You’re walkin’ in the daylight," she told Bill. He confirmed it. "F--- me,” he said.
Thanks to HBO, Darling Sookie and I'm Here For Sookie for screengrabs and more.
It's no joke that you have to completely forget the last seasons and look at TB as a new show often this season. Remembering Eric telling someone (Marcellus?)  last season that Godric chose Nora because she was a political genius while watching Nora's FB. Added to the ignore list along with Sookie's turning more Fae each week with super-duper new powers at her beck and call. One hot thing was how Violet looked at Jason in VampPrison and his look back at her, who's Jess?
Seeing Puffy (look at his chesticles!) strutting down his kingly staircase to meet Eric was too much, it was like a heartbeat away from them back in matching silk jammies and matching. robes. Then Bill was talking to Eric like the bromance was still on, awwwwwwww, Bill was confiding in his bestie. Oh BTW what was the Hep Vamp killing virus from season 1, Hep D?
AV Club reviewAs Billith’s visions become closer to being true, it’s becoming more obvious that the true evil of this season is set up not to be Bilith or Governor Burrell (which is good, considering he’s dead) but Sarah Newlin herself. When Sarah discovers Burrell’s severed head she not only soliloquies about it being “God’s plan,” but she does the perfect insane thing and conspires with a sympathetic senator to cover up his death entirely so she can continue his plan to exterminate all vampires. Anna Camp does wonderful things with some ridiculously over-the-top material, making her the perfect villain going forward.
Unfortunately for Jason, this means she’s on to his plans to infiltrate the vampire camp and blows his cover, setting him upon a room full of vampires with an open wound on his arm. Before this, however, poor Jason reveals himself to Jessica and obviously longs for a reconciliation, while Jessica is busy pining over her gallant vampire savior from last week, James. It’s unclear whether or not the show intends for this to be a love triangle between Jason, Jessica, and James, but Jessica’s instant bond with him and insistence on sleeping with him seems like yet another completely random and strangely unnecessary narrative tangent to embark upon, no matter how soulfully James stares into Jessica’s eyes.

Season Six Episodes Part 4

Episode 6.07  "The Funeral." "World without End" "In The Evening"  -Eric promises loyalty to Bill in his latest effort to save Nora (if only we could get those 2 crazy kids, Ike and Marcellus, back in matching jammies). A tragedy near home forces Sam to ignore the warnings of Alcide and return to Bon Temps (Terry's death would bring Sam back and fuck Alcide). Jessica shows her gratitude to James, a vampire friend incarcerated at the Vamp Camp. Sarah devises a plan of revenge on Jason. From HBOMAX originally, then HBO's press release. More in Castings

Stumbling Through the Bloody Week

Pam, the writers think it will be cool if you fly too, think of all the pumps you could have saved .
Rollingstone interview with Todd Lowe-
When did you find out this was the way your character's storyline was headed?
I found out at the beginning [of the season], when we just started shooting. I guess it was in late January. I got a call from my rep because I was driving, and I hadn't read or auditioned for anything recently, so I was like, "I wonder what this call is." Then Brian Buckner, the new showrunner, took me out for a drink and told me how [Terry's] going to go out. It made good sense. It was the right time. I was happy to die for the good of the many and for the good of the show. And I think it was impactful. I watched the episode last night, and I got emotional again. I was emotional when I first heard about it, I was emotional at the table read, I was emotional when we shot it. And now, I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my back. I can focus now on another project.
I thought the final scene between you and Carrie Preston ("Arlene") was perfect. I really like how Terry died in peace. It was a real honor to the character because he's been there since the beginning.
You know, what I was the most flattered about is that they kept announcing at the beginning of the season that a major character was going to die. Like, "Oh, wow, they're considering me a major character." That's flattering, if not a bit misleading. But it felt good to be included as that. I never really saw myself as that, but I guess Terry had gotten bigger through the years, and kind of played his storyline out, and it was the right time to go.
Were you bummed that you didn't get to go out in a blaze of blood and guts and gore like most True Blood characters?
No. I'm a little bummed that I have to leave the party early. But I'm still friends with everyone in the cast and a lot of people on the crew. You work on a show for six years, and – anytime you're an actor – when a play closes its run, there's postpartum depression there. So I'm bummed mainly that I don't get to work with all these great people anymore on this project.MORE

Going to miss Arliss's Governor, he lit up every scene he was in because he can act his ass off.

An eccentric would-be writer and full-time dishwasher does everything and anything to prove to his skeptical inamorata that they are meant to be, in this winsome romantic comedy from director Jeremiah Chechik (Benny & Joon).http:/tiff.net/filmsandschedules/festival/2013/rightkindofwrong
Puffy out Puffs his own self, again. Look at his strut, lulz!
Interview with Joe Manganiello at MTV"I'm glad that he's not taking anybody's crap anymore," Manganiello said of Alcide. "There's only so many times you can get punched, shoved, cheated on, just repeatedly. It gets so frustrating, and I know when that happens to me, the next day after the episode airs, I'm going to get a call from my dad. 'Why didn't you kill him? You could destroy him. You can kill everyone! Why are they letting this happen?' I just don't want those phone calls from my dad. This year's great. He's getting punched in the face and then he's just knocking people out, which is the way it should be. Don't punch an angry werewolf in the face. If it seems like a good idea at the time, take a nap."
Eric loves mimicing these people of Louisiana, they buy it every time for a short while at least.
just for the hell of it, love this photo.
After this last episode, I think we've had most of the photos that were taken during filming (and are in earlier spoiler threads 1-7, linked here on the right side- Odds and Sods) have been shown in scenes. All but one, if I remember correctly it's Eric in a work jumpsuit outside the Trublood plant.

The Fangover: A Teary Goodbye; Bill Faces Burrell Head-On; and A Self-Described "Danger Whore"
Life and (true) death stakes are nothing new for 'True Blood,' but this week’s episode really lived up to the season’s tagline: “No one lives forever.” A well-intentioned glamouring seals the mercy-kill deal Terry Bellefleur orchestrated last week, and the former Marine meets his end. Director Howard Deutch shares in the Inside the Episode that the scene “took on a life of its own.” Writer Daniel Kenneth adds that it was important the audience see a demon-free Terry: “Ultimately, he dies happy.”
Critics and fans were equally distraught to lose Terry, who’s been a staple since Season 1.
A wonderful show about skin walkers/weres that I watched and mourned it's cancelation was Wolf Lake, it is now streaming on  CBS.com part network's  “Second Look” summer feature. TVLine

We all know Stephen Moyer can act, most famously in his current starring role on HBO's "True Blood."  But did you know Stephen can sing and dance, too?  He actually began his career inl theater, and now he's back on the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in a production of the musical, "Chicago. MORE

EW's Interview with Carrie PrestonPreston learned her TV husband Terry, played by Todd Lowe, was going to die before the season began. “We were still on hiatus, and Todd just texted me and said, ‘Goodbye, Terry.’ I called him up, and I was like, ‘WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?’ We were just completely devastated. As Todd says, ‘Nobody wants to leave the party early,’” she recalls. “But we put ourselves in the hands of the writers and we trust them, and I think the way they chose to have that moment happen was very poignant and not like anything else that happened on the show. I think it was a necessary turning point for the show to bring it back to its original roots, which are grounded in relationships — in particular, human ones. What is making this season so special is that it’s also going back to [the idea that] the worst thing in this world is humans. In season 1, Rene [Michael Raymond-James] was the murderer, and he was human. Then we went off for many seasons into the worlds of the supernatural, and now we’re back into the world of the humans — both glorifying them in the relationship with Terry and Arlene, and vilifying them with the Governor and the Vamp Camp.” (“That was very philosophical. Sorry,” she adds, laughing.) MORE

Don't You Feel Me etc.

Bye Terry, this sure has been a bad few days for the Bellefleurs. Todd Lowe was always so good in the few scenes he had,  hope we get to see him in more things. He still has his band to keep him busy, he seems like a nice human which is getting rarer these days.
I'm really trying to keep up with the news but last week was a royal fuck up, usually I get every bit of SDCC up but I had no time to do it up.  I posted some things but I'm just now watching panels and interviews on the shows I enjoy (they are legion), I couldn't keep up with twitter at all. If you missed things from the weekend too, hang in there with me as we catch up the next couple of days.
Recaparama, let's start with EW's, here's a bit as usual go to the link to read in full and look at pics.
Meanwhile, while Jason nailed his LAVTF recruitment interview with his cocksure attitude and extensive experience with "beheadedism,” Bill realized Jessica was missing and that his Vamp Camp vision must be coming true now. He asked Prof. Hido Takahashi to drain him within an inch of the true death so he’d reach a comatose state and could communicate with Lilith. Then, to drain the episode of any momentum it was building, we cut to Nicole telling Sam that Emma was crying and asking when she could see her grandmother. That scene was so strange, I was trying to think who could be using mind control on Nicole. I guess the writers just wanted to wrap this story line up stat.
VS.
Jason and Benwa forever!
Brian from Campblood and Backlot's high-larious take on the show- They Call Me a Danger Whore-
Sam has called Meemaw Martha (Dale Dickey), who takes Emma home – but she’s not about to let The Littlest Werewolf bring Funyons into her pristine shack. She promises Sam that she won’t take Emma to the pack, and says she’s not running with them anymore anyway. Sam weeps, “Bye, bunny.” Meemaw barks, “I was serious about those Funyons!”
The Guvna visits Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire), who demands to be allowed to join Gen Pop rather than languish in solitary: “I’m dead and you’re still overprotective!” She wants to be with Tara so she can learn more about what she is… from a vampire who’s like a week old. Hitch your wagon to a star, baby!
TVLine's-HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO- Though Billith senses that Sookie is in danger (even emitting one of his patented “Suhkies” in response), he can’t wait until nightfall to ride to the rescue, so he dispatches daywalker Warlow to the scene. After Papa Stackhouse is sent packing by a magical fairy ball and a stern talking-to, Sookie spirits away Warlow to fairy land, lest Billith succeed in summoning him back (using the vomit-and-writhe method that Jessica so disliked).

In the netherworld, Warlow spins a lovely tale about how, if he and Sookie got together, he could stop, you know, eating people. She’s still iffy about becoming a vampire, but she apparently likes what she hears – so much so that she lets her suitor du jour bite her (just a nibble), bites him (ew! She doesn’t even have fangs!) and then, living up to her rep as a “danger whore,” screws him while he’s tied to a rock to ensure that he doesn’t lose control and bleed her dry. Ah, romance!
