THIS Is How it Starts.

Wheee, the media run to Season 5 is afoot peoples! I feel better and my true blood is pumping again, promos, season 4 re-shown, this is it.

The shoes - very aptly named “The Fang” - are the result of the fifth collaboration between the Dutch designer and United Nude. “It's always a thrill to work with Iris van Herpen,” states United Nude Creative Director Rem D Koolhaas. “She always comes up with something extraordinary and it's always a challenge developing and making her shoes. Yet we are a good match for collaborating with her as we are experts in difficult shoe constructions and, in her case, we can develop a product from a single sketch.” Source

Time for a little taste of heaven!  “True Blood” returns for Season 5 this summer, and you can bet the past is going to be haunting the president.  HBO has released three new teaser trailers set in Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgard) bar, Fangtasia; Bill’s (Stephen Moyer) home; and Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) house.  And it looks like more of the infamous trio will be showing us a lot more of themselves in June.  The teasers theme happens to be “In Bon Temps, nothing stays buried forever!”  The teasers are full of shrieks of desperation, declarations of love, introductions, blood-sucking sound effects and even a gun shot, all of which are key moments from the series. At the end of each of these three new teasers, which don’t provide any look at the characters themselves (We’re still dying to see Christopher Meloni in his new character), the text, “You can’t escape your past” appears on the screen.

Michael McMillian is super talented, crazy funny, AND a Laimewad! He’s awesome on True Blood, but he’s even better in our living room discussing UFOs, botox, name changing and lying. He even mediates as it gets a little heated between us hosts. We loved having him on and we know you’ll love hearing him. Enjoy!http://totallylaimepodcast.com/

True Blood Posting from a Sick Bed

True Blood Season 5: Echoes from the Past, "Sookie's House"
New promo I was out for yesterday, I'm trying to catch up, in SLOWMO.
True Blood Season 5:Echoes from the Past- "Fangtasia"
True Blood Season 5:Echoes from the Past- "Bill's House"
This interview is posted as new on Myfanbase.de but I know I've read it before unless everyone is using the exact same questions. The site doesn't want it posted, except for a couple of questions so read it at the link and see if it is familiar to youYour "True Blood" character is very superstitious. Is that something you and Arlene share or do you have something else in common?
I grew up in the south, so I know women like Arlene. I also trust the writers, and I let their words take me where I need to go. We are both strong women. I'm not narrow minded like Arlene, but we have the same work ethic. We both deeply care about what we do for a living.
Can you tease a little bit about season 5? Will Arlene still be skeptical towards her baby?
This season focuses more on Arlene and Terry than on the baby. We have not seen the last of Patrick, the mysterious figure from Terry's past that came into their lives at the end of season 4.
Peeps I am sick, I don't know if I had food poisoning or what but I emptied my fridge of a lot of things, it felt better to be safe than sorry. I just bought a dozen eggs, I made eggie salad and of course they could be the culprit so out they went. The thing is that now I'm afraid to eat anything, toast will be my nomnoms today, at least.
Another interview with Carrie from TrueBloodfansource, this one is very good and worth reading the whole 2 parts. Here's just a bit-
I think that your work with Todd Lowe (Terry Bellefleur) might have a little bit to do with that because I think you both have a wonderful chemistry together and you play off of each other really well. I enjoyed a lot of moments last seasons when you were dealing with baby Mikey and the possibility of him being possessed and trying to figure that out. So what is it like to work with Todd and work with more of the Bellefleur family and have that new dynamic introduced to you outside of the usual environment that you play in of Merlotte’s?
”Working with Todd Lowe is wonderful! We have the same work ethic, we get along very well, he’s very professional but also a lot of fun and we have a good time together.  There’s a comfort level that I have with him now so going to work and doing scenes with him is always rewarding. And I also enjoy working with Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur), we had some wonderful scenes together last season in the Bellefleur mansion. Those days are always are always really fun to have a break from all of the scenes that take place in Merlotte’s. So it’s been fun and there will be more domestic scenes coming up in season 5.

Speaking of Carolyn, this is what she tweeted today-Morning muffins! Off to True Blood... big doin's today. Have a stupendous day your own fine selves!

Drips of True Blood

I'm starting to think I might have a slight obsession with the Dark Shadows remake. A spell perhaps or just too scattered lately to select an old horror movie to start our hiatus support group off with?  Hopefully, my mojo will be back soon.
Joe M was doing some PR for "What to Expect When You're Expecting"more pics at Celebuzz and Socialite Life
True Blood star Joe Manganiello talked about the "big expansion of my character" in store for the upcoming season of the vampy HBO hit at Duracell's "Rely on Copper to Go for the Gold" launch event Wednesday night in NYC. "We're going to go further than my character went in the books, whatever that means, action-wise, romantically -- so there's a lot of fun stuff," he revealed, adding with a fist pump, "Go Team USA!"  ET
True Blood Quoter posted a pic of Jim Parrack on the TB set today.
B-Sleuth over at Skarsgardfans.com had a chance to go to see some location filming and has piccies.
Wetpaint has been doing polls all hiatus, here's one more, who should be killed off.
Marshal Allman's (my beloved Tommy) appearance on Justified this week, continues next week.
From THR's Robert Kirkman interview-There were some rumors late last year that True Blood's Rutina Wesley (Tara) could play Michonne. Was she ever in contention for the role? How many actresses were you looking at?
It was a lot of actresses. The True Blood actress, I don't know that she was even available; I think she's still on True Blood. I don't know where that rumor came from, but to my knowledge, she was never involved.
Executive Producer Gregg Fangberg By Gianna Sobol
Executive producer Gregg Fienberg graces the walls of Fangtasia in this vampire portrait. It was made as a wrap gift to Gregg from the True Blood Art Department at the end of Season Two. This way he’s always watching over the crew, making sure nobody slacks off. And according to Suzuki Ingerslev, Gregg isn't the only crew member to grace the walls of Fangtasia...
From The New York Post's Page Six
“True Blood” hunk J oe Manganiello insists he’s a simple guy who loves to work out, watch sports and eat steak. Dining on a porterhouse and onion rings with friends at Benjamin Steakhouse on Thursday night, he confided that despite the attention he gets from the hit show, no one knows how to pronounce his last name. Then he gave the group, including author and journalist Anthony Bozza, a friendly lesson in pronunciation, sounding it out, “Mang-aniello.”

True Blood Bits and Pieces

Thanks to Laura and Yami for this perfect pic of Kristin at MonsterCon, puppy!
There's lots of photos still straggling in from Wondercon too, let's see what we can find to post for us all along with some casting news.

EXCLUSIVE From Deadline: Camilla Luddington, who portrayed Kate Middleton in the Lifetime movie William and Kate, has landed a recurring role on the upcoming season of HBO’s vampire drama True Blood, which will have a special focus on fairies. Luddington will play Claudette, one of Claude’s (Giles Matthey) many sisters, who gives Sookie insight into what it means to be a faerie. The actress, repped by Progressive Artists, Main Title and attorney Scott Whitehead, most recently did a nine-episode on Showtime’s Californication, which wraps up a week from Sunday. IMDB  Remember folks, all Fae are Brits, oy.

B-Sleuth added a gazillion more pics from WonderCon! All are at Skarsgardfans.
B also has pics of Michael McMillian form WonderCon, believe me I looked everywhere and this is the only place I found any, more at Skarsgardfans.
True Blood Wiki has their page on the Vampire Authority up, sure it will be added to soon.
Carolyn Hennesy is still  filming on TB, love her tweets to fans."Yet another writing day...and looking forward to TB filming! LATER!"
Just got word of my first "location" shoot for TB. Exciting. So wish I could give deets...but June will reveal all!!!

Can't get anything pass Kristin of Eonline, yeah we saw the casting call too.
DevonCarruthers: True Blood! Anything TB related (preferably vampires and no werewolves!)How about…old people?! The HBO hit is going to be flashing back to 1931 in season six, where we'll meet Bill's (Stephen Moyer) daughter Sarah, who is elderly and sick. Very sick.

Thanks to True Blood News, The Nesters, for the vid of Stephen on Top Gear.

From Fearnet.com- A Spoilery Interview with Carolyn Hennesy, in it's entirety at link-
More and more these days, TV shows keep everything secret. No one wants to hint at what is to come - like somehow giving us an overview of the upcoming season would lessen our excitement to watch it. True Blood is one of the most notoriously tight-lipped series on television.  So I was a little nervous about my interview with Carolyn Hennessy. She is one of the new vamps in Bon Temps this season, so I had nothing to ask her outside of "What is happening next season?" Luckily, Carolyn was an utter delight, devoted to her craft (after getting the role, but having never seen True Blood, she sat down and watched all 48 episodes in a mere 10 days), and had a lot to say about her character, Rosalyn.
You play a new character this season, Rosalyn Harris, who is part of the Vampire Authority. Tell me about her.
It's funny because in the script, she is always referred to as "Rosalyn Harris." I feel like it's "Miss Barbara Stanwick" or something. The two names are one name.
Is that a show of respect? Are you higher up in the Vampire Authority?
I am not. The Authority was started by one particular member. I am not the oldest member of the authority but I was there shortly after it started. Very shortly. There are, chronologically, older members of the Authority. But it's [all relative]. It's like if the Authority is 2,000 years old, Rosalyn has maybe been on for 1,950 years. In the grand scheme of things all the Authority members - it used to be eight with Nan Flanagan, but she's gone so it is seven - are the most powerful vampires on the planet.
Do you get to work with Nelsan Ellis a lot?
I do not. I have not gotten to work with him yet. But I have gotten the best: Alexander [Skarsgard] and Stephen [Moyer]. And Chris Meloni [who plays Authority vamp Roman]. So really, a girl cannot ask for more than that. In the first season I am on - and with any luck, there will be more.
It seems that this season is going to be very focused on the Vampire Authority. We've only seen them in bits and pieces. What is going on there?
There is a battle brewing. As has been referred to in previous seasons, there are the [vampires] who are all for mainstreaming. The Authority members are purely for mainstreaming. After all, we are trying to assimilate. We want to be taken seriously. We want to be accepted into this world. We want to be able to live with humans, who outnumber us. That will ensure our survival. Then there are those who don't [want to assimilate]. As Russell Edgington said when he pulled the spine from the newscaster, "We are vampires! We will eat you!" There are two differing factions. Are we going to be able to coexist? That is really what this is all about.
How much of Rosalyn's background did you get to create for yourself?
I got three things: that she is from Texas; that she has hair high enough to interfere with air traffic; and she has a "home-spun wisdom." So she'll come up with the quip that relates to gelding a horse, or say, "Well, when I was on the ranch...." But her instincts are almost always right. Once she makes up her mind, and she knows she is right - and it takes a lot to change Rosalyn's mind. But it can be done.
Does Rosalyn have any romantic entanglements this season? Sex and blood are really the two things that True Blood is all about.
Well, we are in the middle of this very dire [Vampire Authority] situation. So far, there have been no romantic entanglements for Rosalyn. I will say that she has a secret crush, but I think that is all I can say. She has a secret crush that I don't even think the writers know about! [Laughs.]
Well, like you said, when you are working with Alex and Stephen, how can you not?
Right! But yeah, she has a secret crush, which I think is highly unusual for a vampire. Vampires can act on anything, but Rosalyn is playing this one close to the vest.
Is Rosalyn for assimilation?
Very much so. She understands the wisdom of it. In the time that Rosalyn has been alive, we have put a man on the moon; we have conquered oceans; we have this synthetic blood. What else can [humans] do that can be of benefit to vampire-kind? That is what really interests Rosalyn, and the only way vampires can reap the benefits of these discoveries is if they act in concert with human beings.
Would you consider Rosalyn a "good guy" or a "bad guy?"
A good guy. A very good guy. Of course, if you cross her, she will snap your neck. As far as I am concerned, Rosalyn loves humans. She loves them for what they may be able to do for vampires.
I know you can't say much about the season as a whole, but is there a general direction this season is going in?
Well, with only my scenes, it would be that there is a real push for mainstreaming. A real push. And then what ultimately results from that tremendous push. That's really all I can say.
Are you done shooting for the season?
No. We're only half-way. We started in late December / January.
How many episodes are you in?
So far I am in seven.
Are you going to be in the whole season?
I don't know.

WonderCon Helps With True Blood Withdrawal

I was up very late looking for a video from WonderCon of the Battleship panel, finally found one this morning.  First, this is from JustJaredAlexander SkarsgardBrooklyn Decker, and director Peter Berg appear on a panel for their film Battleship during WonderCon 2012 on Saturday (March 17) in Anaheim, Calif. The 35-year-old actor is featured in a new behind-the-scenes look at the making of the soccer scenes from the film along with co-star Rhianna.“It’s been a lot of fun, but I’m pretty sore.Chris, this guy from the Marine Corps, is a goalie. He’s been helping me a lot,”Alex said of learning the role of a soccer goalie. “It’s madness. I have no idea how it’s going to end up on screen, but I’m really enjoying it.” He’s actually doing really good for his first time ever learning to be a keep,”Chris said about Alex‘s abilities". More photos at link.

Thanks to Christina of Frak Earth for all her WonderCon coverage this weekend.
I'm still looking for some Michael Mcmillian info from WonderCon, but I am behind in magazine reading and just found 2 An Iliad articles, so went to TimeoutNY's website to post. Here's the Q&A and then the review.
The Iliad is more than 15,000 lines long. How do you cram such a huge piece onstage?
Denis O’Hare: We’ve sort of carved out our version. We’ve decided to focus on war and its meaning, and the waste of war and the human propensity for violence.
Stephen Spinella:
It’s an immense narrative, filled with so many stories that it feels like the other texts that have lasted that long, like the Old Testament. You can imbue them with or extract from them what will satisfy you in whatever age you’re in. Read the whole interview  Q&A here.

The Poet is played in repertory by Stephen Spinella and Denis O’Hare (the latter of whom adapted the script with director Lisa Peterson from a translation by Robert Fagles). Critics have been asked to attend twice, which could be disastrous if you don’t like the material first time around. Happily, here are two of our finest actors and the text—recounting the defiance of Achilles, the killing of Patroclus, the valiant death of Hector and, finally, Priam’s nighttime journey to beg for the body of his son—is what you might call time-tested: elemental episodes of heroes and gods balancing honor against the will to live. It’s not a straight adaptation; the Poet is presented as a PTSD-addled refugee, dressed in tattered clothes, adding contemporary touches and avoiding parts of the legend that might rip open his psychic wounds. But this isn’t a pat jeremiad against war. Sure, we get the message that it is hell (a notion only conservative chickenhawks would take issue with), but also that Hector and Achilles are complex, honorable warriors, and bloodlust is part of human nature.
Enough about the song; which singer should you hear? Although the two soloists share a certain cerebral tartness, watching them back-to-back, you appreciate their broad differences. Spinella is languid, dancerly, droll and patrician; O’Hare is spiky, bustling, gallows-humorous and earthy. To her credit, Peterson doesn’t force them into the same blocking, but lets the vocal and physical score emerge individually. An Iliad is pure theater: shocking, glorious, primal and deeply satisfying. Each actor has unique brushes and paints, but both fill the eye with astounding sights. More.
Denis must be exhausted, he flew out to film on his day off of An Iliad-
Do show..come home..kiss the boyz..get on plane...shoot..shoot....get on plane, come home, kiss the boyz, do show..rinse, lather, repeat

From the School of Style BlogA few months back we styled Ryan Kwanten from the hit show True Blood.  The shoot was a fashion editorial for a new magazine called Institute. We had clothes from All Saints, John Varvatos, American Rag, and tons of other cool LA shops and showrooms.Anyhow, on to the behind the scenes pictures, and the final shot from the magazine. Luke Storey took some great shot, wow, has more at the link!

Thanks to The Nest for this info from the Top Gear Blog- Stephen Moyer will be on the next showing of Top Gear. Tune in, American fans of the American Top Gear – it’s on History this Tuesday at 9/8c. You can catch up on episodes you’ve missed on the History Channel Top Gear siteLater in the show, actor Stephen Moyer, of the Emmy-winning series True Blood, sits down for a chat with Rutledge. Part 3 of Season 5 Spoilers, Castings Continued

From Rhoswen7- Oh yeah, and Stephen Moyer's the director
TRUE BLOOD, Episode #508, "Somebody That I Used to Know"
Director: Stephen Moyer Writer: Mark Hudis Location: L.A. Start Date: approx. 4/2/12
[REGGIE] Male, mid 20s to early 30s. Caucasian. A good looking redneck, a member of a trashy, low-rent anti-vampire hate group. Co-star
[SARAH COMPTON-HARRIS] Female Caucasian 70s - 80s. Seen in a flashback to 1931, the elderly, very frail Sarah has been ravaged by cancer and is close to death. One day guest star.

Speculation from Trueblood.net "Not only is Steve directing this episode, but it appears we’re getting a look at Bill’s history: the show is casting Sarah Compton-Harris, an elderly woman seen in flashback to 1931. She’s in her 70s-80s, and ravaged by cancer. Does Bill find his daughter at death’s door and offer her an alternative?" While I don't think he would offer her a vamp life he might be there to offer comfort or just to watch from the sidelines, remember Bill was forced to turn Jessica, it's not his style.
[RYDER] This large guy is a wolf who addresses the Shreveport pack as they face a change in leadership. Guest star
[LADY PACKMEMBER] This female member of the wolf pack makes a wry suggestion at a meeting. Co-star
[SEAN] College age, lean and tall like a long-distance runner, Sean is a University track star who's put in the terrifying position of having to out-run a wolf pack. Co-star
[FEMALE] 20s Caucasian, she begs for her life as she is fed on by a vampire. Co-star
[S
AM] Double to Sam Trammell. 5'9 1/2" - 5'10" 155 - 160 lbs. 38 chest. Actor must look just like Sam Trammell.
Yeah fans were just clammoring for more fairies, no?

Update 5/31 From TVLine -
Tina Majorino has landed a role she can really sink her teeth into. The Veronica Mars alumna and current Bones co-star has booked a recurring gig on True Blood's upcoming fifth season, TVLine has learned exclusively. She’ll play a key member of the Vampire Authority’s support staff who first appears in Episode 3, which is scheduled to air June 24.
Jennifer Hasty will be our Shifter killing Sweetie Des Arts, hope she's similar to book Sweetie.

The Alan Ball vampire drama has enlisted Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick for a recurring guest role as Alcide's father Jackson Herveaux, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.Patrick will first appear in a flashback episode that depicts Alcide and Debbie Pelt as teenagers in the 1980s. At the time, Jackson was said to be a "powerful, inspiring and heroic" guy, but in the present, he's given up on life.Jackson, as a way to repay his father's debt to Eric, also stands as the reason that Alcide first agreed to help Sookiesearch for Bill during Season 3.He's scheduled to make his debut in Episode 9, slated to air Aug. 5 and titled "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." In addition to appearing in True Blood, Patrick will next be seen in ABC's upcoming freshman drama Last Resort, in which he plays the master chief of a NATO sub in the series from Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Terriers).
Keram Malicki-Sánchez cast as the vamp who pushes Pam around and sits in Eric throne/chair in the Comic Con trailer. IMDB
