Merry, Happy, Sexy Hiatus Holidays!

The sexiest Dracula, Frank Langella (with Laurence Olivier as Van Helsing!), was a high end change up from previous Dracula films. Look at the scene below and then take a cold shower, ok, maybe that's just me.  I have to watch the whole movie again (maybe a new year's day treat?), anyways, Frank will take us through our next hiatus therapy session.

Thanks to Etain from Bookies for finding this-

Some mindless wanderings, ever notice that Sam looks like actor Glenn Ford? He would be great in a bio of the actor.
Wow, EW really hurt Charlaine Harris' feelings, sucks. She posts about it on her blog-
There’s something to be said for hitting rock bottom. As I was drinking my first cup of coffee Sunday morning, I was reading my favorite magazine, Entertainment Weekly. I’ve been a faithful subscriber for many years, and I remember how excited I was when my name was in its pages for the first time, when Alan Ball began filming “True Blood.”
I was in the pages of EW again in the year-end issue: “Best and Worst of 2011.” My book, DEAD RECKONING, was designated one of the worst of the year, along with a book by the ubiquitous Kardashians and one by Snooki of “Jersey Shore” fame.
At first I really couldn’t believe it. Though I fully realized DEAD RECKONING was not a perfect book, I knew I’d read worse during 2011. Then I realized that the criteria must have been, “bad books by someone famous.” Still, it stung pretty badly, as you can imagine.
I was pretty philosophical about the experience until my inner insecurities began to plague me. Most writers have plenty of those, beginning with the suspicion that we are actually no good at all and that someday someone will discover this . . . no matter how healthy our bank account may be, or how brisk sales have been.
I was secretly hoping my agent would challenge the article’s writer to a duel. Then I realized that if anyone did that, it should be me, and I was feeling way too pitiful.
I hope I don’t experience anything more humiliating in my professional life. This kind of capped off a very eventful 2011 for me, because I’ve had a number of thunderbolts, both personal and professional. Next year simply HAS to be better.
Happy Birthday to Big Joe Manganiello, December 28th!

Holidays Start True Blood Style.

I think this show was so underrated, to me it was great right up till it went off the air. If there was an all Buffy/Angel TV channel it would be a success, why hasn't it happened? Good memories.
It seems only fitting that Angelicus should host the start of the holiday Hiatus Support Group.

What’s Coming in Season 5?

By Gianna Sobol
From the mouth of Alan Ball himself: "We're really going to find out what the vampire Authority is all about."
TRUE Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten has added some fresh blood to Sydney's celebrity holiday ranks, arriving yesterday for the Christmas break. From News.com.auThe former Queenscliff boy is believed to be mixing business with pleasure, catching up with family on the northern beaches and shooting a campaign for surfwear label Mambo.
Happy Birthday Allan Hyde, He is 22!

While we are on memory lane, let's remember the golden, good old days, HUGE SIGH.

From Facebook, it is sooooo funny-
I hope they change up the look of "The Authority" from this Wolfram and Hart crew.

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player
Ryan Kwanten sat down with "Extra's" Terri Seymour in Venice, Calif. to chat about his new role as American Ambassador for surf retailer Mambo.
Kwanten has signed up to help start the new collection in America through Bon Ton department stores.
Although sworn to secrecy, the actor also dished a little on the upcoming Season 5 of his popular HBO series, saying, "This season I would say is the season of controversy. We're going to turn some heads this season. We're going to pull back to where they were and then some. If we cracked open the door before, we're going to smash it down."

As for what happens to Sookie  and Bill, Kwanten said, "There's more in store for them, I think. They were a match made in heaven, but with him being the King now and with her dealing with her new fairy status, there's all sorts of things that are keeping them apart."
And what dangers lie ahead for Alcide (Joe Manganiello)? "He's again caught in the tumultuous love affair with Sookie. You can see that it's not one sided. That she's been very much denying it. She treads the water very carefully there."

True Blood … the Christmas Special

By Gianna Sobol
Since a season of True Blood accounts for maybe a week of "show time," and we air in the middle of summer, we haven't had the chance to experience the joy of putting together a Christmas episode. But I asked writer Mark Hudis what things might look like in Bon Temps during the most wonderful time of the year, and here's what he had to say...

Interview from Sydney Confidential, ha!
In the last 12 months he's played a small-town copper in Red Hill,Griff The Invisible and has recently wrapped disaster flick 7500under the direction of The Grudge's Takashi Shimizu.
"Money has never been a huge inspiration for me,'' Kwanten, who is back home collaborating a new line with Mambo, told ConfidentialAnd nothing could be more uninspiring, to be honest, than playing another character that is exactly like Jason. "I love playing it for the six months of the year that I shoot it, but when I'm done shooting it I'm looking for another challenge; something that's going to take me outside that box I feel comfortable in. "Whether I fall on my feet or fall on my arse, I dunno. You've got to take those risks.''
Having turned the big 35, the ex Home And Away star will return to the US on New Year's Day to resume filming the fifth season of the cult vampire series. "If you figured we were controversial already this is going to blow it off the hinges,'' he said. "It's going to touch on a lot of firey topics.''

Needs More Code V

Ultraviolet was a UK TV Series in 1998, I heard how good it was but didn't get around to watching it till a couple of years ago. I wished it was a longer run, there are only 6 episodes and Moyer was in just 2-3 of them. He is so young and pretty you will love seeing him as a baby vamp.  I wanted to watch not only because it was about vamps but Jack Davenport is one under-used actor and is good in anything he is in.
The series follows Detective Sergeant Michael Colefield (Jack Davenport). Michael discovers that his partner Jack (Stephen Moyer) has gone missing on the night before his wedding to Kirsty (Collette Brown) whom Michael is secretly in love with. As he investigates Jack's disappearance, Michael uncovers a secret government vampire hunting squad consisting of soldier Vaughn Rice (Idris Elba), scientist Angela March (Susannah Harker), and a Catholic priest Pearse J Harman (Philip Quast). He also discovers that Jack has been turned into a vampire and ends up being recruited into the squad. Over the course of the series Michael and the vampire hunters investigate various vampire related cases, often involving medical experimentation, as they try to determine what the mysterious agenda of the vampires is. Wikipedia
The series is about a police unit, fighting a secret war against a worldwide vampire conspiracy. Often the cases are about genetic engineering since the "Code Fives" - the word vampire is never uttered - can not reproduce. Sounds simple enough, luckily "Ultraviolet" is anything but.

From CraveOnline, the Meloni frenzy continues (more at the link)-
As originally reported by TVLine, Meloni will portray ”an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.” Meloni will also be a series regular during the fifth season of "True Blood."
Thus far, Meloni is one of the most established actors joining the cast of "True Blood" for the new season. Kelly Overton and Louis Herthum have both been cast as werewolves, with Dale Dickey ("My Name is Earl") as Annie, the werewolf mother of Marcus Bozeman, the former packmaster who was killed by Alcide Herveaux last season.Lucy Griffiths will also join the cast as Nora, the vampire sister of Eric Northman; whileValentina Cervi will play the ancient vampire known as Salome.
Ausiello goes forward with his bid to rule twitter-
Question: OK, I’ll bite: What else can you tell me about Chris Meloni’s role on True Blood? —Diego
Ausiello: He’s the mastermind of… something. Guesses? Hit the comments. And then look for the answer on Twitter very soon!

It's funny but so true, from Back2stonewall
Oh…My…God! This is freakin’ awesome! Hunky Chris Meloni as a hot vampire? It’s like a fantasy come true that I didn’t even know I had.
Wetpaint talked to Janina a bit
At the recent opening of New Era’s Los Angeles store, Janina Gavankar told Wetpaint Entertainment about the love fest that was their first day back. The first table read was just hugs and kisses and ‘what have you been doing?’" she told us. "Everybody’s done so much in the hiatus — people have produced films, they’ve gone trekking through mountains, they’ve had babies. We seriously need an internal newsletter! There’s no way I could know about it all so the first day was a lot of catching up.” She talks more about her getting in shape for the role of Luna at the link above.
Janina is on Facebook and twitter.
Episode 502 table read done. What a giggle fest. Proves we're not just cast, we're #trubies.
Skarsgardfans has some filming info (speculation too) and photos up at the link.

Actress Deborah Ann Woll attends the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute at The Shrine Auditorium on December 11, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.
More photos at Zimbio, they cover everything.
Knoxville.com has an article on hometown girl Dale Dickey.
Acclaimed Hollywood actress and all-around-local gal Dale Dickey will have blood on her hands this summer. The Bearden native has been cast on HBO's "True Blood" for the upcoming fifth season, set to premiere in the summer of 2012. She'll play the role of Annie, the mother of the late werewolf Marcus. And since her son is dead, she has a score to settle with a few folks. If you're wondering about Annie, yes, she will be a werewolf, too. Annie will also be very well respected among the other werewolves because of her late son. Her mission during the fifth season is to perform a particularly dangerous magic ritual. Already there is speculation that Annie may want Alcide to pay for killing Marcus. Dickey's casting in "True Blood" will not be limited to one episode. It will be a recurring role throughout the season. This has been quite the year for Dickey, who grew up in Knoxville and attended the University of Tennessee. Earlier this year, she won the best supporting actress honor at the Independent Spirit Awards, the equivalent to the Academy Awards in the indie film world. edit-Hope she dresses like this as Annie!
Charlaine Harris put up Chapter 2 of Deadlocked on her site
The master of giallo has a new Dracula movie coming out, the effects aren't completed but to this fan of Argento it looks wonderful. It is in the vein of Hammer films with the bonus of Rutger Hauer as Van Helsing, love the old time movie vibe.

Another good Denis O'Hare interview from AssignmentX, (more at the link).
ASSIGNMENT X: When we last saw you as Russell, you were completely burned, and now in AMERICAN HORROR STORY, when we first see you, you’re half-burned. Is there a through-line here?
DENIS O’HARE: [Larry is] a very different guy than Russell, a very human guy, which I love. I love the fact that in the pilot, you see all these aspects of the character in one scene. My character goes from being a monster to a pathetic, suffering human being, which I think is fantastic. I thought the acting across the board was fantastic. I thought the girl who plays the daughter is unbelievable, Taissa Farmiga, the guy who plays Tate [Evan Peters] is unbelievable. Frannie Conroy – to have her in a show – and Jessica Lange, I mean, come on! [Dylan McDermott] is fantastic. Lovely guy. We got to be together a lot of time off set, and we got to know each other really well.
AX: Between Larry Harvey and Russell Edgington, you’ve played two regular characters with serious burn makeups in under two years. Are those makeups as miserable to put on and uncomfortable to wear as they look?
O’HARE: The one for TRUE BLOOD was definitely hard to wear, that was tough to wear. This one is actually not that hard to wear, and [the makeup artists] do such a beautiful job of it that I’m thrilled to be in it. And I love doing it.
AX: Speaking of the TRUE BLOOD makeup, were you happy with the way Russell’s story ended so far, with him buried deep in a pit of concrete?
O’HARE: You know what I’m happy about? I’m happy about such a fantastic season last season, and happy that this season [turned] out to be such a great season, and that they keep talking about Russell. They keep saying, “We’re in a post-Russell Edgington world,” and they keep talking about, “When Russell Edgington pulled his spine out …” See, he’s not dead. If somebody invokes you, you’re not dead. He’s been invoked again and again and again. I love that.
AX: Well, we’ve seen a bit hole in the pit of concrete now, and TRUE BLOOD series creator Alan Ball has said, “Russell isn’t dead.” Can you elaborate on that at all?
O’HARE: I think Alan Ball is a brilliant man, and I think he’s a really smart man, so if Alan Ball says he’s not dead, then I bet he’s not dead.
Crazy this week, at #7500 wrap party with ya boy Ryan Kwanten, aka Jason Stackhouse from .

Weekend Therapy is Near Dark

Near Dark, so many reasons this movie is high up on my list for best in vamp. It not only has actors from the Alien franchise, sexy Lance Hendriksen, but a very pretty, young Adrian Pasdar and equally beautiful Jenny Wright (I thought she'd be big, what happened to her career?).
This review is from Bluemoviereviews, from the DVD preview, more at the link.
Long before the red state chastity of theTwilightseries or even the homoerotic glamour of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, vampire films got a homoerotic glamour of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, vampire films got a strange and visceral twist courtesy of co-writer/director Kathryn Bigelow’s 1987 B-flick Near Dark, a gritty take on the sub-genre that was as much Western adventure as it was horror story. A cult classic for decades, the film gets its first DVD re-release in five years July 7, even as the director’s The Hurt Locker opens nationwide to riotous critical applause. Fans of the Whedonverse and HBO’sTrue Blood won’t want to miss it, while Twilight devotees owe it to themselves to check it out.
Small-town Oklahoma boy Caleb Colton (Adrian Pasdar, Heroes) gives comely drifter Mae (Jenny Wright, St. Elmo’s Fire) a ride home and gets a bite on the neck as thanks. The next day, as his skin catches fire in daylight, he’s kidnapped onto the open road by her gang of roaming vampires, including their leader Jesse (Lance Henriksen, Aliens) and his psychotic henchman Severen (Bill Paxton, Big Love).

It′s Official: Chris Meloni Joins TRUE BLOOD as a Series Regular — Exclusive New Details!
Executive producer Alan Ball revealed to TV Line that Meloni will be playing ”an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”

Look who's back, I checked last night and it was still the post from the finale.
The Writers Are Back in Session
By Gianna Sobol
Time flies when you’re having fun, and we’re already back in action here at the ‘True Blood’ production offices, gearing up for Season 5 and enjoying the fan love from Season 4. It’s all gone by so quickly. We made new friends, lost some old ones (I’m particularly bummed about Nan Flanagan, aren’t you?) and weathered the heat of a Bon Temps summer.
Alan is busy casting new characters, breaking story and finding locations for the upcoming season. The writers are working away, the art department stops by every few days with new blueprints and set plans, and the offices are once again filled with our awesome and loyal crew. It’s an exciting place to be.
With the writers back in session toiling over season 5, Alexander Woo took a few minutes to chat with me about what he’s been up to.
Gianna:  So what did you do over the hiatus?
Alexander:  I went and got married.  We had three receptions all over the country, so we traveled a lot. Then went on our honeymoon, and attended another wedding before coming back to town.
Gianna:  Now that the writers are back in session, what are you guys and gals up to?
Alexander:  We have gathered to discuss the storylines and themes of Season 5, and scripts for the first half of the season are being written. We are preparing to shoot Episode 1 right now.
Gianna:  Have you read any scripts yet for the new season?
Alexander:  I've read episodes 1 and 2, and I'm very excited about them.
Gianna:  Do you know which episodes you'll be writing?
Alexander:  There are six writers and twelve episodes, so I will be writing two. I'm doing episode 4 now, and another one toward the end of the season.
Gianna:  Is there anything you can share with us about next season?
Alexander:  Some of the things that people loved in the first four seasons of ‘True Blood,’ you'll be getting more of. And there will also be some surprises that will hopefully delight everyone. We have a sense of what the fans have already enjoyed in the previous seasons, and we're doing our best to give our fans more of that but also leave some room for novelty and surprise.

Eonline's Kristin has a wee bit of scoop.
Yas: Any True Blood info not related to werewolves? I'm a fang-banger for life!
Prepare for a flashback to the 1950s. The city: San Francisco. Now who could possibly have business in San Fran during the '50s?

He said he is excited to be returning as the Bon Temps lawman in the Louisiana set drama, despite the fact he has been busy filming comedy horror flick Knights of Badassdom and thriller 7500.
'They've been kind enough to schedule all my stuff on 7500 upfront to accommodate my 'True Blood schedule, but I really can't say anything more than that.'

He told Dread Central: 'We have started breaking down the stories for Season Five, and we start shooting at the end of November.

He also said his sidesplitting performances as the show do not come from him deliberately hamming it up.

He said: 'Jason's reactions on 'True Blood' are what I call more of situational comedy. 'I don't play him with the intention of 'Oh, I hope I get a few laughs from this'; it's more like the situation itself is funny, and it's his reactions that reflect that.'

Janina talked to Wetpaint last night, the whole thing at the link -
We caught up with the True Blood star at the Thursday night grand opening of headwear manufacturer New Era’s Los Angeles store, and she revealed that season 5 of the HBO vampire show will be "bloodier, sexier, and dirtier" than ever!
Though the actress, who plays the shapeshifter Luna, didn't offer up too many specifics, she promised that fans should look forward to a wild ride when the show returns this summer.
“We’ve been back for almost two weeks now and it’s already crazy. I mean, just insane!” Janina said on the New Era red carpet. “At the beginning of last season, the first episode was very relaxed and it started a year after we stopped season 3, so there was a lot of catching up to do. But this [season 5] is not a relaxed situation. We are starting really tense from the beginning."
DogTipper has info on Kristin's Collars Not Cruelty Campaign, more info at the link-
“We must continue to demand collars, not cruelty, in the fight against rabies,” added Bauer, who posed with her Labrador Retriever Ozmand to promote the campaign.
Denis OHare had a good run on American Horror Story, bye Larry! He is one actor that you seem to see in any show or re-runs, TVGuide says he'll be back on The Good Wife too-
Court is back in session for Denis O'Hare. The Tony winner will reprise his role as Judge Abernathy on an upcoming episode of The Good Wife, TVGuide.com ha
O'Hare, 49, has appeared in four episodes of the CBS legal drama as the famously liberal judge. His episode is scheduled to air at the end of January. "We have missed him a lot," series co-creator and executive producer Robert King tells TVGuide.com. "He doesn't have to wear the burn makeup for this."

All I know is that when it was out that Michonne would be on TWD eventuall,y Rutina's name always came up, Angela Bassett too, lol. From God'sreview Tumblr-

The Walking Dead Fan Club” has just released this news telling that “Rutina Wesley”, “Tara” from “True Blood” will be the one to play Michonne in “The Walking Dead”.

Well guys, remember, this is a BIG rumor, nothing is confirmed, and as long as theAMC itself or the actress doesnt confirm this news, this isn’t true…s learned exclusively.
Added a Michonne pic so you get the idea of how this character rolls. Still no confirmation but it is on just about every Walking Dead and TB fansite.
UPDATE: Seems like this was another rumor, or is it?
