New Week, Fresh True Blood

Congratulations to Kristin Bauer on her Indie flick, "The Story of Luke, winning best feature at the San Diego Film Festival.
This hiatus is already much drier than last year's, we had hints of Salome and the Authority from Raelle Tucker and Alan Ball doing interviews this far in. I miss Gianna Sobol's Inside True Blood blog too, fingers crossed we get some goodies soon for our Hiatus Support Therapy.

Lots more pics of Stephen Moyer   at JustJared
The Daily Mail has more pics and text on Stephen out and about with his mom and daughter Violet.
The HBO stud is a big fan of keeping in shape, and even takes part in boxing sessions with top trainer Freddie Roach, a sport he loves as his grandfather was a pugilist in his younger days.
He had even come dressed for the occasion - wearing a blue Nike GBR T-shirt, shorts, and trainers - and even took part in running drills with the youngsters.
Not seen today was his love interest on and off-screen Anna Paquin, 30, who was most likely at home caring for their newborn twins.
It's still unclear what sex the babies are but, despite being born a few weeks early, both are said to be in good health.
Stephen will next be seen in the horror-thriller Evidence with Radha Mitchell.
He'll play a detective who hunts down a killer using video footage shot by the victims of a massacre at an abandoned gas station.
And Moyer will appear alongside Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth in next year's crime-drama Devil's Knot. More photos at the SOURCE

“ENCOUNTER Calvin Klein” Global Launch Celebrated with Alexander Skarsgård
IMAGES by: Billy Farrell/BFAnyc.com – or – Madison McGaw/BFAnyc.com MORE

From The Fly GuysThe invitation-only event was hosted by Calvin Klein Collection’s Men’s Creative Director, Italo Zucchelli, at the McKittrick Hotel’s new rooftop garden bar, Gallow Green, in New York City.
Esquire interview for the Encounter Launch-
ESQUIRE.COM: Do you have a favorite scent?
ALEXANDER SKARSGARD: Well, I have one that’s pretty odd. I grew up in south Stockholm, and it used to be a working class neighborhood. It’s become trendy but not when I was growing up. There was this sausage factory a block away from my childhood apartment. It didn’t smell nice, like chorizo or something, it was pretty foul. Just nasty. But that smell reminds me so much of my childhood, because every morning when I was going to school I would smell that. So if I ever find myself near a sausage factory, I like it. It reminds me of my childhood.
ESQ: Is there a scent that you hate?
AS: I don't like those artificial air fresheners. They just smell so fake. It's too much. I know that it's weird to say that you don’t like the smell of those but like the smell of sausage.
ESQ: Was the Calvin Klein label big in Sweden when you were growing up?
AS: Yeah. I mean, the Kate Moss campaign was pretty huge. I remember when that came out. I mean, she was so hot. When I was a kid, there was only two state-run channels in Sweden, and there were no commercials. Now there are hundreds of channels but we still have those state-run channels, like the BBC in England, and they're still commercial free. You weren’t exposed to advertisements. It’s not like when you’re in Los Angeles and you see all these billboards, Sweden wasn't like that. There was nothing. But when you took the subway, that was one of the few places you actually saw advertisements and C.K. was the big one. I remember all the kids were running around wearing Calvin Klein underwear.
ESQ: What was it like filming the Encounter campaign with Lara Stone?
AS: [Calvin Klein has] never worked with a male actor for a fragrance before so I was honored and flattered that they asked me. I dug Lara a lot — she's really laid-back, casual, and easy-going. So when this came up and I knew [who was working] on it, and the idea behind the short film — the fact that it was going to be a short film instead of a commercial — and that it was going to be dark and cinematic and very film noir, I felt like that would be something fun to do.
ESQ: How is shooting an advertising campaign different than shooting a film?
AS: There was no dialogue, so you get to play around and create a lot of it in your head. It gave me great freedom to create a character and play around with it. The energy is interesting in a room like that because it’s very intense during the shoot; they’ll play music to help you get into a certain mood, and then it’s “cut” and you go to lunch and everyone's just chatting.
ESQ: What's up with your next film project What Maisie Knew?
AS: It's based on a Henry James novel and it basically follows a custody battle where you follow this little girl, Maisie, and her parents, played by Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan, as they divorce. Julianne’s character remarries my character but she’s not really there for her daughter. She’s a fading rock star and she's on tour a lot, so I end up taking care of her daughter a lot, and we form this relationship. It was a really special project because of this really amazing girl who plays Maisie, Onata Aprile. She's just phenomenal.
Another article at Men's Health with Alexander Skarsgard
From Extra-When asked about being considered as the leading man in "50 Shades of Grey" Skarsgard said, "Step one is always reading the material… before you've done that you can't say if you're excited or not. I haven't read the books. All I know is that they are very popular, obviously."
From Women's Wear Daily
After spending two months in a bomb shelter in Vancouver eating nothing but kale salads and drinking water, Alexander Skarsgård enjoyed a cold brew at the launch party for Calvin Klein’s Encounter fragrance, hosted by Calvin Klein Collection’s Men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli Thursday night.
“I’m a beer guy,” said Skarsgård, who just wrapped filming on his new movie, “Hidden.” “It was pretty intense. It was dark.”
The event, held at the atmospheric Gallow Green garden rooftop of The McKittrick Hotel, also offered partygoers the chance to participate in the similarly dark, interactive theatrical experience, “Sleep No More.”
“Tonight is the first night I will try it out,” said Skarsgård, who had yet to attend the noirish Macbeth-inspired performance despite shooting in the space for two films.
“I like mystery and questions unanswered,” he added.
Speaking about his gig as the face of Encounter, Skarsgård said, “It felt like the right one.”

Alexander interview with SFXUK about Season 5, now airing in the UK, Monday nights. Whole interview is at the link-
What do you like about Eric?
“Eric? I love him. He’s been around for a thousand years so he doesn’t really give a f**k. He’s seen it all, done it all. Initially what attracted me to him was that they introduced him as a villain, and I loved that because I knew that there was more to him than evil. I think we’ve all got both forces within us, and I loved that you had to back up and go, ‘Wait a minute! I wanted him to be a villain but now I sympathise with what he’s doing.’”
Where does your inspiration come from to play a vampire?
“For inspiration I went back and watched Max Schreck and Bella Legosi and Nosferatu and all those classic old vampire movies. It was also about finding the humanity within the character. Inspiration can come from anything: your younger brother does something or you watch animals on television and that inspires you, where you’re like, ‘That’s pretty cool, I’m going to steal that.’”

David B.: Any scoop on Joe Manganiello's return to HIMYM? I've missed Brad!
Oh, we missed that brunch-lovin' bro, too! Someone who probably didn't miss Brad? Marshall, who will be going up against his former BFF/current nemesis in court, which could prove to be a real challenge considering the judge and jury are pretty into Brad's physique. Can't say we blame them!

By Silvia Patterson For Redonline, whole interview at the link03 October 2012Long before London 2012 saw women’s boxing make its Olympic debut, Anna Paquin – the sometime cute 11-year-old who won an Oscar for her bonnet-wearing performance in The Piano – had been regularly pummelling all-comers round the ring.
‘I’ve boxed for years – I love it,’ she enthuses. ‘I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to say girls get angry, angsty and frustrated, too, so it’s good to have a healthy... release. You have to have a bit of a sick desire to experience pain. It’s exhausting, it’s so hard. But I’m a fitness junkie, so anything that isn’t hard is kind of boring for me.’
Paquin, 30, star of HBO’s True Blood is also, it seems, something of a challenge junkie: not only not your average Hollywood actress but a vegetarian ex-goth feminist bisexual who calls herself a ‘geeky weirdo’. On the day we speak, she is seven months pregnant with twins [born healthily the day before we go to press], and clearly deliriously happy with her husband, True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer.
‘Nudity just doesn’t faze me,’ muses Paquin in her measured voice – a Canada-born New Zealander, who sounds American with a sporadic burst of pure Kiwi. ‘If it wasn’t something I was up for, I certainly wouldn’t have got involved. I’m sure sometimes it feels like they just take our clothes away because... they like taking our clothes away. But in True Blood, it feels creatively motivated. Sex and sexuality is a big part of adult life. Our target audience is not teenagers.’

Since season one, Paquin has often simulated explosive, completely naked sex with the man who became her real-life boyfriend in 2007, British-born Moyer, whom she married on a beach in Malibu in 2010. Which certainly begs a question: while she could get away with any real erotic stirrings on set, things wouldn’t be, surely, quite so discreet for him. Have they had any, you know, compromising moments?‘There is a fine line between what we do and what adult actors do,’ she giggles. ‘But we have the Cock Sock that goes around the boys’ bits. It’s a little modesty pouch and they put everything inside there, and it gets tied up. So it’s all very appropriate and professional. And there’s the little patch that goes over the lady bits, basically a thong with the sides cut out of it, which you tape to yourself. Which is not massively pleasant, but it certainly draws clean lines around what they can and cannot show on camera. And it’s not just for the comfort of the actors: the crew don’t want to see more than they absolutely have to. I think it’s kind of polite, y’know?’
A creative kid, Paquin moved to Los Angeles with her mum and older sister in 1995, following her parents’ divorce, where she was ‘picked on’ in school for being ‘the weirdo’. But her acting career flourished, and she was soon increasingly employed as the edgy teen inHurlyburly (1998), A Walk On The Moon (1999) and Almost Famous (2000) – until the role of Rogue in X-Men (2000) redefined her as an action siren. Unfeasibly, though, despite 10 years as a child/teen star, Paquin never became either an unbearable luvvie or actually insane.
‘I had my own priorities, involving doing well at school and also having a job that mattered to me,’ she notes. ‘And, frankly, if I fucked up at school and was a complete monster to be around, my parents wouldn’t have let me continue to work.’
It was HBO that forced Paquin and Moyer together. During the pilot auditions, neither lived in LA (she was living in New York, he in London), so HBO booked them into the same hotel.
They hung out, had dinner every night and, when they returned home, realised they missed each other. Essex-born Moyer is, she says, ‘as English as they come, very polite, very well-mannered. He’s a very nice English husband – and very attractive’.
He’s also a demon on the ukulele. ‘Of all the random things, I’m rather partial to the ukulele,’ she grins. ‘He’s very good, annoyingly, at rather a lot of things.’
Paquin has always been hermetically private and, since going public with her pregnancy news this summer (saying she was ‘incredibly excited’), vowed never to discuss it again, in case something went wrong. She’s equally protective of her step-mum role to Stephen’s two kids from previous relationships, Lilac (10) and Billy (12). ‘Their privacy is sacred to us.’
The imminently expanding family lives in Venice Beach, California. ‘It’s an outdoorsy, life, cruising around on our bikes and skateboards, going to the beach and hitting the farmers’ market.’
She describes 42-year-old Moyer as a ‘super-geek’, but he’s also a creative romantic, having designed her wedding ring himself. What binds them together, ultimately? ‘We’re best friends,’ she decides. ‘If you’re going to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want it to be the person you want to hang out with all the time. We have a lot in common but, when it comes down to it, if that person isn’t really your buddy as well, for me, I don’t think that would work. And we spend all our time together. A lot of people say, “Oh, I could never work with my significant other”, but I love getting to go to work with the person I want to spend all my time with.’And when you get there, you get to have sex with him! ‘Sometimes we go to work and we’re not actually in any scenes together,’ she cackles. ‘But it’s really nice. It’s like working in the same office building.’
This summer, Paquin turned 30, and watched, amused, as her friends were more aghast than she was. ‘Various friends reacted as if it was end of their youth.’ She’d been rounding her age up to 30 for months anyway, ‘so I wasn’t treated like a kid. I’ve had a full-time job for 21 years and feel like a grown-up, in lots of ways’. She’s typically Kiwi in that, ‘I can’t take a compliment, I cannot accept praise on any level without feeling wildly uncomfortable and totally undeserving’.
Her immediate future is dramatically busy: the twins arrive this autumn, and she’s long decided she’ll be a working mum – next January, she begins shooting True Blood season six. ‘Like every other woman with a career, who wants to also have a family, I’ll be getting back to work,’ she nods. ‘I have the luxury of being able to afford the help I need. I consider having a full-time, reliable job a major blessing. You will never catch me complaining about being employed.’
Spoiler for OUAT, but TB's Rene is coming! Who is he?
