Sex and Death, the Eternal Combo

Another True Blood Birthday this week, Ryan Kwanten, All the Best You Wonderful Ozzie!
Fourth birthday cast member's this week, Happy Birthday to Nelsan Ellis!
I hate the paps bothering Anna and her babies, sorry but I am trying to avoid posting any of the pics they stalk to get. They keep referring to them as un-named, just because they don't know the names doesn't mean Anna and Stephen haven't named their children, feeble minded stalking morons. Moving on to a casting call From Zap2It, sounds so not SVM-ish, I'd rather hear this was a call for Amelia.
"True Blood" fans have to wait until Season 6 begins this summer to return to Bon Temps -- though no official start date has been announced, we're hearing June is a good bet. In the meantime, we've got an intriguing spoiler to tide you over! This week, new showrunner Mark Hudis sent out a casting call for a brand new character -- and she's going to be a major player in the upcoming 10-episode season. The "True Blood" team is looking for a Caucasian actress in her early 20s to play Nicole Jannsen. A "do-gooder to the core" Nicole is naive, optimistic, and charming -- but her idealism is "ultimately vaguely idiotic and dangerous."
Nicole is a key member of a band of well-meaning liberal advocates. The gang models itself after the civil rights activist Freedom Riders of the 1960s, a group of progressive protesters who rode buses from state to state, challenging racial segregation and Jim Crow travel laws. The Freedom Riders were usually arrested, and fell victim to mob violence, Ku Klux Klan beatings, and cruel and unusual punishment in prison.
Don't expect a secret agenda from Nicole, who will appear as a new series regular character this season. "A true bleeding heart," Nicole is "not at all concerned with money; she's concerned with the common good and doing what's right ... Life hasn't beaten her down yet." If you're still not getting a clear picture, the casting call suggests that she went to Bryn Mawr College and drives an old Saab.
From Ausiello's SpoilersQuestion: Looking for some tidbits, morsels or anything on True Blood. I love your site and check it out daily. — Scotty
Ausiello: Thanks, Scotty! This summer, Bon Temps’ vampire population will face something that’s potentially even more dangerous than the sun: Crate & Barrel! I’m sorry, I mean Creighton Burrell. Not only is the new regular character a morally murky politician — and the governor of Louisiana! — but he also has a major hate-on for fangers, owing to the fact that his wife ditched him with their daughter to be with one!
Question: Any True Blood scoop? My fangs are starting to come out for lack of blood sugar — I mean, Season 6 info. — Ashley
Ausiello: Sink those fangs into this, Ashley: When the show returns, we’ll be introduced to a cockeyed optimist named Nicole Jannsen who runs with a (no pun intended) pack of civil rights activists in the (pun intended) vein of the 1960s Freedom Riders. Unfortunately for the lot of ’em, their good intentions aren’t necessarily backed up by a whole lotta common sense.
From our casting source the last few seasons, Rhoswen7, the casting call and as we said I didnt see this being a romantic casting for Sookie, doesnt even say he's a fae, but we can hope that is what he is. I need some bookie love.
[BEN] Mid 20s to mid 30s. Ultra charming, ultra handsome. ...The kind of guy women and men are completely drawn to, but possess[es] a low-key quality, a southern gentility that Sookie would find familiar and comfortable. His dark side, however, is dark, dark, dark."
From EOnline's SpoilerChat, little more info in Burrell-
We'll be introduced to a new series regular next season: Creighton Burrell, the governor of Louisiana with a big chip on his shoulder when it comes to vampires. You see, his wife ran off with one, abandoning him and their daughter. Ambitious and savvy, this politician sometimes lets his personal aspirations take over his humanity.
From Spoiler TV-
-The title of True Blood episode 6.01 will be "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
Three co-star roles are being cast for the episode: two Caddo Parish sheriff deputies, for a scene in which they politely pay Sam a visit at his house; and a male Authority guard, who sees something he can't believe in the AHO Control Room (The birth of Billith).

Joy In Directing and Reprising A Fan-Favorite Role On 'The Good Wife'
Jesse Livingston: The Good Wife has been getting quite a bit of praise, not to mention winning a Peabody Award and multiple Emmys – and CBS has renewed it for a fourth season. When you joined the cast in Season One, did you already know the show was going to be a hit, or did you have a strong feeling about it?
Carrie Preston: I was a fan of it from day one. I know Julianna Margulies – we did a play together about seven years ago. So, she was a friend, and I started watching it for her. I liked it immediately. I had wanted and hoped to go on the show in some capacity. At the end of the first season, when they asked me to play this incredible role, I was really excited. At that point, the show had found its audience and was turning into a hit. I didn't do any of the second season at all, so I thought, “All right, that was it. I had a great time. I played a fun part," and then when they came back and asked me to do those episodes last season, I was just thrilled.
JL: Your character Elsbeth Tascioni has been described as “quirky.” Do you see her that way, or would you use a different word to describe her?
CP: I guess maybe I would use the word “dizzy.” I would say that she's brilliant; her mind works very quickly – like quicksilver – and her mouth and her body are always trying to keep up with her mind. That's what makes her so fun to play.
JL: Do you know yet if Elsbeth will be returning for Season Four?
CP: Yes, actually I'm shooting right now. I'm going to be doing three episodes, I think.
JL: You and your husband Michael [Emerson] have appeared in several projects together. You played his mother on Lost and his ex-fiance on Person of Interest. Plus, you were both in Straight-Jacket; Ready? OK!; and a stage production of A. R. Gurney's Love Letters, if I'm not mistaken?
CP: We did, yeah. That was just a one-off benefit reading of Love Letters. But we met doing a production of Hamleteighteen years ago at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Since then we've done a production of Measure for Measure, another totally different production of Hamlet, an independent film called The Journey – so, we've done a lot of things together over the years. Plus, I've just recently done a couple more episodes of Person of Interest.
JL: It sounds like the two of you try to work together as much as possible?
CP: If it works out, yeah. A lot of times, it's not up to us – you know, it's up to whoever is producing and directing. But we enjoy it very much. I have a production company, and I've put him in movies that I've produced or directed. [laughs] I like to take advantage of his talents and his visibility. More
Another interview with Carrie in it's entirety at CWAtlanta  here's a bit-
Which do you enjoy more, directing or acting?I can’t really say I enjoy one or the other more. I think that both complement each other. Acting is my first love, but directing is very exciting that allows me to exercise all my creative muscles.
So have you picked anything out for next project to direct?
I do have a couple of things, there’s a project that I am attached to now called “Hope and Salvation,” a southern story and I am hoping that we are going to be able to get that off the ground. And my producing partners are working on something else that we are in development on. And then I have a web series that I have been writing and starring in that will hopefully premiere in the summer
Aw, what a good guy-

Joe Manganiello talks shooting David Ayer's gritty 'Ten' (and why it's already cut down on those body roll requests) Interview from EW (more at the link)-
With Channing Tatum being named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive, Magic Mike is back on the brain. But Joe Manganiello is confident that if fans see him now (pictured, via Twitter), as he shoots David Ayer’s Ten in Atlanta with Arnold Schwarzenegger, they would not ask him to do one of his famous body rolls. “Now I have a huge Unabomber beard, with cornrows and full-sleeve tattoos, and I’ve put on probably like 20 pounds. I look like a biker/murderer, which is really what I’m playing,” he tells EW. “So the body roll asks have subsided. People come up to me now, and they’re like, ‘Hey, I went to go get my car fixed and I’m pretty sure that they screwed me over. Can you go and talk to these people for me?’ That’s my request now. I’m sure after this movie comes out, people are gonna ask me to start killing people for money. Which I guess is a good thing. I’m an actor, so I’m supposed to change.”
In the film, he plays Grinder, a member of a task force the DEA has put together to fight against the Mexican cartels. “I’ve spent the past four months training with guys who do it for a living. That’s complete with ridealongs with narcotics officers in South Central, where, like, I saw some stuff go down. I’ve been training with a task force that goes around the world training SWAT teams how to sweep buildings, which is amazing. I’ve been out on the shooting range firing fully automatic weapons with the sheriff’s department. I’ve trained MMA stand-up and ground fighting, which is stuff that I’ve done before,” he says. “My character’s deep undercover within a biker gang. I got to design my own biker cut. I helped design the tattoos that I’m covered in. My character’s part Native American, so there’s a skull in a headdress on one arm. He was also a former Marine, so there’s a couple different takes on that. Basically, his job is to rid the planet of souls that shouldn’t be here. So the tattoos are death-themed. I’ve got a rattle snake skeleton on one forearm.”

From Ausiello, this must be Ben- Move over, Bill. And Eric. And Alcide. There’s a new man in Sookie’s life — and he’s putting down stakes in Bon Temps. True Blood has tapped  English actor Rob Kazinsky (EastEnders) to join the Season 6 cast as a series regular, TVLine has learned.  Kazinsky — whose biggest TV credit stateside was an arc on Brothers & Sisters — will play Ben, a highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders. This marks True Blood‘s second major Season 6 hire. As TVLine reported last month, acting vet Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) has also come on board in the series regular role of Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. True Blood‘s sixth season is slated to premiere in June.  Deadline confirms he is Ben-
