Tara Buck talked to Moxie Reviews about her career and make-up choices for products not tested on animals, she looks fabulous. More pics and in depth interview at the link.
Hailing from the US, Tara Buck’s first professional acting job was on the hit television show, Party of Five. Tara’s theatre roles have included A Gift from Heaven (2005), for which she was nominated for anOvation Award, Marisa Megrzyn’s West Coast Premiere, Ten Cent Night (2009), and the leading role in the Pulitzer Prize winning play, How I Learned to Drive (2010). She was Rhea Reynolds in the series, Nip/Tuck before appearing on True Blood.

Fans know that you do a lot of screaming on the set of True Blood; when did you scream for real recently?
I was gardening and I discovered a dead critter. It really caught me off guard. My fiancĂ© came running out of the house at the same time my neighbor rushed over. Hysterical! Contrary to what people probably think I don’t usually vocalize my fear. That’s sort of a true blood exclusive.

I can't think of better casting than Peter Mensah (Oenomaus from Spartacus) for any role on another show I watch. This actor can bring it, including tears as my Doctore. EXCLUSIVE from Deadline: Peter Mensah will join True Blood in a recurring role as Kibwe, Chancellor for the Authority. Originally from Africa, Kibwe works toward mainstreaming under Roman’s tenure. In addition to previous and current incarnations of Spartacus on Starz, Mensah has appeared in films including Zack Snyder’s 300, Antoine Fuqua’sTears Of The Sun, Touchstone Pictures’ Hidalgo and James Cameron’s Avatar. His television credits includeTerminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, WitchbladeThe Pretender and Star Trek: Enterprise.
This was the casting call for his character-Episode #502, "Authority Always Wins"
[KIBWE] Early 40s to early 60s. A slender African gentleman vampire, he's an Authority council member who believes rehabilitation for prisoners over stricter punishment...STRONG RECURRING PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT AUTHENTICALLY AFRICAN ACTORS FOR THIS ROLE.

Blame It on the Hiatus Full Moon

The first werewolf movie ever, made 6 years before Lon Chaney Jr.'s Larry Talbot made his debut, was Werewolf of London. It had nothing to do with roaming the moors, the woods, or the Pacific northwest, but instead had Wilfred Glendon getting bit in Tibet. I would think he'd turn into a Yeti myself but that's just my Harry and the Hendersons infatuation talking. I haven't seen it since I was a child but always thought it was more Jack the Ripper than Werewolf.

The great Jack Pierce designed the makeup for this movie as well as the more famous Wolfman, the star Henry Hull refused to wear it, he thought it hid his features too well. This was why it was more like Jekyl and Hyde/Jack the Ripper to me. The photo is the original make-up intended and you can see it was used to perfection in the later Lon Chaney Jr. movie.

Blood Lust During Hiatus Support Meeting

Even this vamp is thinking, Oy, five and a half more months till I can watch True Blood!
Happy Birthday (Feb. 8) to Jim Parrack!
Jim's Demo reel, has some scenes with Mariana Kleveno/Lorena too.
From NY Mag's Vulture Blog-When Will Denis O'Hare Return to True Blood?
Filming has resumed on the next season of True Blood, and while we've heard plenty about new additions to the cast like Christopher Meloni, what of Denis O'Hare's villainous vampire Russell Edgington, who appeared to have escaped his concrete prison in the last episode? "I don't know what they have planned for me, but I'll probably be in most of the season, starting about midway," O'Hare told us last night atSecond Stage Theater's All-Star Bowling Classic. But don't expect any spoilers on how Edgington got away: "If I told you that, they'd bury me again. All I can say is that he's got friends in unlikely places." Edgington brought his own bowling ball and bowling shoes to the event, but when it came to this week'sother big game — the Super Bowl — he was less enthused. "I don't hate football, I just don't care. I'd rather be at the opera," the out actor told us. "It's not about [being] gay or straight, it's a lot of hype. It's a lot of money, money that could be spent better somewhere else. I think we as a culture could do something better with our attention than worry about a bunch of men in tights running around hitting each other." Although when you put it that way, Denis ...

Interview with Denis from Queerty, after some political talk they asked about TB-

Anyway, that’s enough politics. You’re back on True Blood  this summer—how the hell did Russell survive?!? Well, if I told you that, they’d bury me again. All I can say is that he’s got friends in unlikely places.
How mysterious. You’re also doing some theater in New York, right? Are you allowed to tell us about thatI’m doing An Iliad right now.
As in The Iliad? Yeah, it’s a one-man show at the New York Theater Workshop. We start previews next week!
So it’s about the Trojan War. I’m playing Homer.
I missed this interview with Janina, and y'all know how I love me Maila Nurmi, Vampira! I had no idea she was at her gravesite.Complex Mag.

Tale of the Body Thief is coming to the big screen, loved the book but who will they cast?
According to THR, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment has optioned the rights to Rice’s The Tale of the Body Thief. Imagine used its partnership with India's Reliance Big Entertainment to fund the acquisition, and it is using the Imagine Reliance Writers Lab to work on the script. Lee Patterson, who wrote a well-regarded screenplay titledSnatched, is working on Body Thief.

I Saw a Werewolf Order a Pina Colada

When backpacking around Europe remember 2 things when you are in the UK, stay out of bars with Pentacles and stay away from the moors at night. Especially if it's a full moon.

Miss you Warren and the old Capitol Theatre.

The Nest turned me on to an interview with Mike McMillian, our newly fanged Steve Newlin. You can listen to it at the god hates fangs podcast blog and read more at the link.
Naturally he was tight-lipped about exactly what we can expect in season five, but he did give this intriguing insight: “It’s gonna be really, really good.  The whole season so far has been great.  It’s very vampire centred. I think season five is gonna start paying off the promises of the first four seasons.  It’s like, ok, now you know the way the world works, we’ve introduced these separate plotlines, these separate characters, and it’s really starting to come together this season in a big, big way.”

TRUE BLOOD DICTIONARY

go-to shift | gĹŤ-to͞o SHift |noun
The default animal into which a shifter turns, usually an animal the shifter feels most comfortable with. There’s no rhyme or reason to this; similar to being right handed, it’s a preference expressed subconsciously. Sam explains to Sookie that his go-to shift of a dog is because “people like dogs, and most other animals will leave you alone.
”Entry by Benjamin Hayes, writer’s assistant.
Season 4 is showing now in the UK and we're getting some news from the recent cast interviews, like this one from the Daily Record, (in full at the link).
Sookie and Bill have had an on-off relationship and in the new series she will grow closer to another vampire, Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgard. But Anna, 29, who is step mum to Stephen’s two children Billy, 11 and Lilac, nine, from two previous relationships, insisted there is no jealousy.
She said: “It would be too hard to imagine how I would feel if I walked in on him and he was with someone else for real.  “But in reality it’s not something that I actually feel, because it’s not real. It’s just the show.”
They met and fell in love on True Blood, which has been going since 2008. Anna and Stephen’s characters had been together, but during the last series that relationship fractured and now they are spending more time getting to know other people.
Anna isn’t as happy with that side of it. She said: “I really like spending as much time with him as possible.
“While the show isn’t our whole life, we have a life outside of the show, I certainly love getting to see my husband as opposed to being stuck in some random country in the middle of nowhere and not seeing him for five months.”
From the LA Times-Avid football fan Joe Manganiello suited up for GQ magazine's annual pre-party on Friday, the "True Blood" werewolf enjoying the company of big-name athletes, actors and personalities.

Getting Closer to Season Five

Yes, even Eddie Murphy was a movie vamp, and he was better at it than he has been in most of his other movies (Norbit!).  "Vampire in Brooklyn" has him as Maximillian (pretty hot vampire name) from the Caribbean in this Wes Craven comedic film. He comes to New York in search of a Dhampire, a daughter (the fabulous Angela Bassett) of his hometown vampire. Max is also the last of his vampire lineage and must mate (never liked this kind of theme) to continue the race. Khadeem Hardison is pretty good as the Renfield type character in this telling of the Dracula tale.

Sam Trammell has a cameo along with a slew of celebs you'll recognize in this trailer-

Stephen Moyer has dropped a hint about what is coming up for Sookie and Bill-

Stephen also revealed the couple missed working together so much in the last series when the relationship between his vampire Bill Compton and Anna's telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse came to an end. The 42-year-old said: "Anna and I love working together, it's all we've ever known, so we kind of miss it, but I think they realised halfway through season one that our show works best when there's conflict ."But the actor hinted that season five will see more changes for Bill and Sookie. "There is something that happens at the beginning of the season which changes their relationship again," he teased.

Digitalspy has this vid and more with Deborah at their link.

Joe on another mag cover, many more at DA Man, some new information from Joe's interview too. This is just the TB related bits, but it's much longer-
DA MAN: Have you read all or some of Charlaine Harris’s The Southern Vampire Mysteries—the literary inspiration behind True Blood?
Joe Manganiello: I read each coinciding book before each season in an effort to get inside the writers’ heads. I wear the books like a loose jacket.

DA MAN: Do you discuss things much with creator Alan Ball? And is he open to input from you or the rest of the cast?
Joe Manganiello: I don’t tell daddy how to f*#k … Alan is a genius. I trust his judgment implicitly and I give everything I have to my job, which is playing Alcide. Alan and the writers give me the situation and what I’m going to say and then I put my stink on it.

Kidarazzi and Ryan, he is the most comfortable with these kids.

Don't forget Denis O'Hare's play is opening soon, ticket info is here.
