Keep On Sucking in the Free World

Vampira stopped by last evening, we watched the repeats of "Secret Circle" together. She was asking "so what's this crap about Russell not being the STAR in season 5?" You can see how perplexed she was from the photo, I had no answers for her except let's wait and see, hope for the best before we go off on Ball (he shouldn't piss her off IMO).

True Blood | Remember Alcide’s crazy ex, Debbie Pelt? Well she’s about to be crazy with family. The HBO drama is in the process of casting the not-so-dearly departed’s mom and dad, Barbara and Gordon, who will hit Bon Temps loaded with questions bout their “missing” little girl. Though both ‘rents are described as “kindly,” Gordon will be riled up and grow defensive soon enough when Alcide speaks ill of the dead. Er, of the “missing.”
Rhoswen7 strikes again and I am so grateful!!! Thanks to Barbara of Skarsgardfans for the song.

Here are casting notices for episode #503, "Whatever I Am, You Made Me"!
TRUE BLOOD, Episode #503, "Whatever I Am, You Made Me"

[LINDSEY] In her 20s, attractive in a small town kind of way, she's fixing a flat tire in a narrow country road when a vampire comes upon her. 1 speech & 3 lines, 1 scene. Co-star. (2)
[MOLLY] In her 20s, bubbly, with a retro Bettie Page/Suicide Girl vibe, "cute as a button if buttons had fangs," she works for the Vampire Authority and outfits two prisoners with complicated deadly devices. Visible tattoos a plus. One-day guest star. Possible recurring. (11)
[MISS JILL STEELER] In her 40s, an ex-teacher, recently divorced and back in town, "she used to be beautiful, now she looks like an attractive, pleasantly plump housewife." Guest star. This role contains topless nudity.
[BARBARA PELT] In her 50s, a kindly, well-dressed woman, she is Debbie's (Brit Morgan) mother who is anxiously searching for her missing daughter. She and her husband, Gordon, confront Alcide. Guest star.
[GORDON PELT] In his 50s, a kindly, well-dressed man, he is Debbie's (Brit Morgan) father who is anxiously searching for his missing daughter. He doesn't appreciate Alcide speaking ill of Debbie. Guest star.
[DOROTHY] Seen in flashback to 1905, this pretty young prostitute has been glamored and is being drained by two vampires when another vampire saves her. 1 line, 1 scene. This role requires nudity.
[TRACY] In her 20s to 30s, heavily made-up, hair-sprayed and spray-tanned, she owns a small town clothing store and talks trash about Jason to Jessica. One-day guest star.
[CLAUDE] Early 20s. Very attractive, omni-sexual guy (with and without a shirt) A mysterious young man who speaks with a British accent and catches Jessica's attention and curiosity. Recurring. Must have a British accent.  ETA Claude? Really Alan? Now that's just screwing with us bookies.

This cover of French Quarter #5 looks like Eric only has half his drag on, I had to look twice. You can buy a digital copy too HERE.
With Bodies piling up and their investigation at a dead end, Sookie, Bill and Eric are forced to seek help from the local authorities-but that meeting leaves the trio with more questions than answers-so Eric takes them to a secret New Orleans library of vampire history and information!

In the books on which True Blood is based, the Southern Vampire Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris, the character of Alcide features more heavily in some books than others. But show creator Alan Ball seems to have taken a liking to Manganiello’s role, further infusing the plot with story arcs featuring the werewolf. When I suggest that this is a reaction to the character’s popularity with viewers, Manganiello shakes his head. “I don’t know that Alan’s somebody who caves to peer pressure – as evidenced by him killing off most of the cast after season four. I think Alan does what Alan wants, and Alan does what Alan feels is right,” he says with a laugh. “But whatever the reason is, I think I’ve greatly benefitted. I know for a fact that [Alcide] is going to play a bigger part [in season five.] My role is only going to increase, and I’ll wind up getting into territory that isn’t covered in the books.”

  From today's NYPost-
Scene-stealer Carrie Preston returns as the flighty legal eagle Elsbeth Tascioni, who saved Alicia (Julianna Margulies) when the Department of the Treasury pressured her to give up the firm’s suspected terrorist client. Preston was entertaining enough that Mama hoped that her initial episode might be a test bubble for a spinoff, so it’s worth setting the DVR — even if it means recording for three hours to accommodate the overtime on the preceding AFC playoff game, which is the most irritating part of this drama.

  1. I'm excited about Alcide's expanding role, getting into territory not in the books. A chance for some romance with him and Sookie?
