From Geek Nation
Take 5 With Sam Trammell

We started something, Sam is featured in new promo!

From Eonline's Spoiler ChatNaya in Dallas: Gimme some True Blood! Preferably AB positive, please!
Damn, unfortunately we've only got O. As in Oh, snap! It's a Pam vs. Sookie showdown, ya'll! Location: Fangtasia. Dispute: Sookie is asking Pam to summon Tara so she and Lafayette can help her become better vampire. However, Pam has no intention of helping "Tinkerbelle" find "that pathetic excuse for a vampire." Outcome: A brief-yet-badass battle that you surely don't wanna miss. Oh and by the way, watching Pam send a text message has got to be one of the coolest things we've seen in a while.

Happy Birthday to Georgia Peach Carrie Preston!
Barbie Pam!

Remember not long after season 4  ended, those Valentina Cervi interviews I translated from Italian? She went on about Salome, then her diary entries stopped and interviews about TB stopped in the Italian press. Well she is in the same mode with TVGuide, she has no filter and I love it.
We briefly met Salome last week. What can you tell us of how she fits into the Vampire Authority?
Valentina Cervi:
She is the right hand of Roman at the beginning. She shares a very special intimacy with him, so they have a layered relationship. Every vampire has a different agenda in The Authority, and of course, we're all next to Roman, but the interesting thing is that everybody has his or her own way of thinking, and when the season goes on, you will find out where everybody stands, and who everybody stands next to. Of course there's a lot of Biblical and historical references because they have inspired Salome from the biblical Salome. She's been a victim since she was a kid. She was sold by her mother when she was a kid, so she has a lot of hate in her, and she brings that hate and that need of love with her in the season.
How is this Salome different from what we know of the Bible?
Talking with the writers, we all agree on the fact that she has been betrayed as a kid. So today, she has this very complicated and sexual relationship with human beings. She can't trust them. That's why when she became a vampire, she could, in some way, stand up for her rights, and that's where all her anger, her fear and also her pain comes from, from the betrayal that she received when she was a kid.
What do Salome and The Authority want from Bill and Eric?
There's an apparent reason and it is to bring them on her side. She wants people to be on her side, and she understands who people are. At the beginning, she can't really trust Eric. She knows Eric, she knows everything from his past, and she knows about Godric and Nora. With Bill, she feels that he is someone she can, in some way, manipulate more. At the same time, she respects Bill more because she sees his heart and she knows that he has a good heart.
Does she actually have feelings for them or is she just using them?
Things will develop and will change in the course of the season. At the beginning she is just cool. She is just testing the ground with both of them. In [this Sunday's episode], she is real. What she says is real. Of course she has her agenda, but I think that deep inside, she really feels for Bill, and for Eric in a different way, because she can't trust him. Being a control freak as she is, she wants to know where everybody stands and she doesn't know if he could stand next to her.
What role will Salome play in the upcoming vampire civil war?
Cervi: Her main role is to protect Roman at the beginning. She really tries to guide Roman, almost like she wants to save him. She wants to make him be the best he can and so I feel that Salome's the big mother — with all of the consequences that being a mother is. It doesn't mean she's a good mother, but it means that she feels for the person she has around and even if she has a sort of childish relationship with Roman and can [waver] in their intimacy, she really wants to protect him. Of course, what they show publicly is not what they share intimately.
Would she ever want to take his job as Guardian?
I don't think so. I think she's a very strong believer, and so she would die for her beliefs, but she's not thirsty for power. She wants the Vampire Bible to be really respected and with all the consequences that it will bring.
Salome was close with Nora. Is there a chance Salome may decide to switch sides to the Sanguinista movement?
We don't know what Nora's plan really is right now, but the thing is, she is like my sister. I sponsored her Chancellorship at the beginning, and so her betrayal really hurts me. We will see who stands on whose side. Not everything is what it seems. I think she loves Nora as a sister and she feels incredibly bad, but I also think that everybody has to do what they have to do, so they're going to have an explanation afterwards of why Nora did what she did. Who knows that what you see is what it seems? Maybe there's another backup plan.
I hear we'll actually meet Lilith this season. How does Salome feel about this person coming in and saying she's the original vampire?
Cervi: Salome really believes that Lilith is The Goddess, that Lilith is the God that we have to trust, and follow, and believe everything that is written in the Bible is true.
What kind of vampire is Lilith? Is she everything that Salome imagined?
Yes. She is the mother of everybody and people will see that in a different way. Vampires will perceive her in a different way. When Lilith appears, she's everything that we all think she is. She's this beautiful, seducing, motherly goddess, and then a lot of things are going to happen. I can't reveal too much, but it's not what it seems, and even we will be very surprised. You believe in something and then suddenly things change, then you find yourself in a crisis, but it's great fun. It's great fun because it really leaves all the doors open for the characters to explore different sides of their personality and different sides of life, if you can call that life.MORE
Joe GIF from Tumblr's I'm Here for Sookie
AfterElton did a good, long interview with Joe, just posting the True Blood related part. You will want to see the pics there and read it all.
AfterElton: Let’s talk True Blood first. One thing I’ve noticed is that for a werewolf Alcide has a very nice moral line. Do we ever see that kind of get shaken, or would you like to see that get shaken up a little bit?
Joe Manganiello: Yeah, you will see that get shaken up. Towards the end of the season you will definitely see that, but I think it is done in a very interesting way, let’s just say that. It is done in a way that made me very excited when I read it.
AE: Is this something you’ve wanted to see happen for him since you’ve been on the show?
JM: It actually is. I’ve wanted to see what would happen if he crossed the line, and I think everybody that is watching whether you consciously know it or not, it is a line that gets crossed that you really want to see get crossed, yeah.
AE: Alcide is still very moony-eyed over Sookie (Anna Paquin), but their timing always seems to be a little off. I’m wondering, is he going to wait around, or is he eventually going to get tired of waiting?
JM: He is a man at the end of the day. He's a man with a big heart, and I think that he needs it to be reciprocated. So I think there is only so long that someone can go without it being reciprocated. But hopefully the timing does wind up working out at some point.
AE: Vampires traditionally are very sexual and very homoerotic. Do you think werewolves are kind of the same way?
JM: Elements of homoeroticism in werewolves? I don’t think Alcide is. Alcide is straight, and I’m trying to think of the other werewolves. That storyline hasn’t really been explored on the show. MUCH MORE!

With his Mum and Dad, so cute.
LasVegasSun sure has been a great source for photos of TB actors the last 2 weeks. Ryan Kwanten at Blue Man Group in the Venetian on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

Jarrett from The Insider did a Q and A with NewClaude Giles Matthey- True Blood is known for its extreme secrecy, so what is the audition process like for this show?
Giles Matthey: I had no idea who I was auditioning for. They keep everything under lock and key. And the audition was very last minute, I was about to get on a plane when my agent sent me to the audition, so I was wearing, probably, 17 layers of T-shirts and T-shirts and turtlenecks and sweaters with these massive snow boots because I couldn't fit anything else into my bags. I was sweating profusely, so I'm sure they thought I was in drug withdrawal or something. I can't imagine what they thought I was "going for" with that. But I did my thing and they must have liked what I did because I got the role and went into wardrobe the very next day. It was an interesting process to say the least. Fans have been curious about your casting because you look very different from how Claude is described in the books. Are you aware of your literary incarnation?
Giles: I am aware of the character in the books. I know that he's described very different to my physical sense. I'm quite a scrawny, skinny guy and Claude is meant to be some outrageous male stripper. Basically the same build as Joe [Manganiello, who plays Alcide] – they've done for quite a different look and I am aware some fans feel it's too different. But that's True Blood; they've always been different. Lafayette shouldn't be there and I think Claudine is still alive in the books. There are so many differences, but this is the writer's interpretation. Personally, I think it's more exciting to have some a different outlook because otherwise you'd know exactly what to expect and that's boring. Has his profession changed?
Giles: You'll have to wait and see! But fairies are very sexual creatures – they smell of freshly baked bread, sex and candy, so if that is a hint at all. This season goes deeper into the fairy world, which is quite different from the books, but I think the fans will find that very exciting. MORE
